Boom!
Wang Zong shattered the temple doors with a punch. Inside, he saw a statue of a god.
The statue was only four meters tall. All its gold paint had peeled away, and its once kind, generous smile had turned hideous.
Its stone-carved eyes radiated a chilling killing intent. The instant Wang Zong broke in, they locked onto him.
Nameless arrived and landed lightly on the temple steps. From there, he could see everything inside.
"Something's wrong with the statue!"
"Strange. Why isn't Wang Zong moving?"
Nameless watched the scene, unable to keep the thought from crossing his mind.
Ahead of him, Wang Zong's face stayed rigid for a moment. Then he narrowed his eyes and quickly retreated.
When he had smashed the doors, his body had been completely unable to move for an instant. But just as suddenly, he had recovered.
Something was clearly wrong.
Wang Zong backed out through the doorway and glanced around.
Something had interfered with the statue's power, preventing it from focusing that power on him alone.
"Nameless, come out!"
Wang Zong let out a low roar. Instinctively, he turned his left hand into a blade and swept it behind him. A terrifying blade of energy erupted from his hand and slashed thirty million meters into the distance. Countless mountains collapsed with a roar.
But the strike missed Nameless and instead drew a host of other monsters.
A humanoid creature resembling a bat suddenly appeared behind Wang Zong. It opened its jaws and lunged for the trapezius muscle on the right side of his neck.
As its jaws snapped shut, Wang Zong slammed a fist into its head.
Crack.
First its bones shattered. Then the terrifying force reached its brain, bursting it open and spraying brain fluid and pulp from the back of its skull.
