Nameless knew this superpower well. Early on, it had been one of his most important ways to stay alive.

Under his control, Jayne could hardly break free of the lake water. The next several times Jayne tried to force its way out, Nameless shoved it back under.

An hour later, Jayne stopped struggling.

Jayne discovered that although it could not escape the lake water, the water could not hurt it either. Its wounds had healed while it struggled. Even if Nameless tried the same trick again, he would not catch Jayne off guard so easily now that it was prepared.

"Give up. You can't kill me, even if you are the strongest demon hunter I've ever met," Jayne said calmly from beneath the water.

Nameless said nothing. He kept adjusting the shape of the lake water. Jayne noticed the changes, but could do nothing to stop them, so it let him carry on.

A moment later, threads of blood appeared in the water. Countless crimson strands gathered into piranhas of every shape.

Like cats catching the scent of fish, the piranhas swarmed toward Jayne. Jayne frowned and struck out underwater, but the fish were far more agile. Several attacks failed to kill even one.

The problem was their razor-sharp teeth. They could not pierce its defenses in a single bite, but they sawed at the same spots over and over. Given enough time, even Jayne's defenses would give way.

Minutes later, wounds covered Jayne's body. It twisted and thrashed, but could not kill all the fish at once. Again and again, it struck underwater hard enough to blast the water apart and even create brief pockets of vacuum, only for the lake to rush back in.
