A group of men and women trudged across the vast snowfield with luggage on their backs. They were hunters who made their living hunting snow rabbits, snow foxes, and Snow Wolves on the Wolfpack Snowfield.
Food was very easy to preserve on the Wolfpack Snowfield.
Sometimes, after catching prey and draining its blood, hunters would find a place to bury it, then dig it up when they needed it.
The purpose of their trip was to dig up a large elk they had hunted a month earlier.
"Dad, look over there. What's that?" a girl whispered.
Everyone looked in the direction she was watching and saw something moving across the dark red ground in the distance.
The elderly hunter's expression changed instantly. "Let's go, quickly! Keep up!" he said in a low voice.
Without another word, he turned and ran. The others were somewhat bewildered, but they all followed.
Perhaps out of curiosity, several of the younger hunters glanced back as they ran, only to see huge red Werewolves charging toward them from the distance.
"I'll hold them off! Run!"
A burly hunter glanced back and immediately realized that the monsters would soon catch up with them. He stopped and roared.
Several young hunters stopped as well, shouting, "We'll stay too!"
The Werewolves descended on them in an instant. The burly hunter drew his blade with a roar, only for a Werewolf to smash his head apart with a single punch.
