Half an hour later.
Zhang Ping told a story while roasting "chicken wings."
The three gibbons and the Sloth had gathered around him. Only the Harpy Dog-Faced Monsters hid in a corner, secretly licking their wounds.
He had used Journey to the West to win over the three gibbons, then used them to pressure the Sloth. That left the Harpy Dog-Faced Monsters in the minority.

He had never intended to fight the Harpy Dog-Faced Monsters, much less bully them.
Who could have guessed that, once the Harpy Dog-Faced Monsters realized they were at a disadvantage, they would cut off their own wings as an apology and retreat to a corner of their own accord?
What else could Zhang Ping do?
Naturally, he had no choice but to roast their wings through his tears, on the principle that food should never go to waste.
He had to admit, the Harpy Dog-Faced Monsters' wings were delicious. The meat was rich and tender, crisp outside and juicy within once roasted. Every bite filled his mouth with savory flavor.
The three gibbons stared wide-eyed, drooling as they cast the two Harpy Dog-Faced Monsters the occasional hungry glance.
The two monsters immediately began to tremble.

Zhang Ping stayed on the knot of the Giant Moose's whiskers. His telling of Journey to the West remained as dry as ever: Sun Wukong killed so-and-so with one swing of his staff, then ran into someone else. It sounded almost like a running log.
He seemed to realize he had no gift for storytelling. As time went on, he put in less and less effort, sometimes nearly dozing off in the middle of a tale.
The Mutated Beasts on the whisker knot loved listening to him,
