Zhang Ping held Fat Cat and examined its body. Fat Cat let him do as he pleased, looking as though it had lost all hope in life.
Zhang Ping knew the attack from the sky had to be the Beast-Taming Zhu Family's doing again, but he had decided against revenge. For one thing, he could not find Sunfire Base, so he had nowhere to strike. For another, he had more important things to do and no time to waste on the insignificant Beast-Taming Zhu Family.
Since returning, he had spent most of his time in his bedroom studying his abilities and thinking about what he had seen in the images returned by the Appraisal Technique.
After absorbing the Flare Cannon's energy, all his abilities had grown stronger. They could even link with one another to produce special effects.
For example, by combining the Glutton's absurd devouring power with the Linker's ability to extract supernatural abilities from other creatures, he could forcibly draw abilities straight out of an unconscious creature. He no longer needed the Contract Gem as an intermediate step.
Now, whether his target was an Awakened or a Mutated Beast, he could easily seize their abilities.
Of course, with Zhang Ping's delicate sense of decency, he would never attack an innocent person at random. But someone guilty of the ten most heinous crimes was another matter.
As for the images returned by the Appraisal Technique, the information was explosive—perhaps even the origin story of the Awakened. But the images were incomplete, and much of the information had been in plain sight all along, so there was not much to puzzle over.
The only things Zhang Ping had given serious thought to were the Black Sun and the White Giant Snake.
