After reading Apophis's attributes, Zhang Ping felt he had a problem on his hands.
Apophis clearly held an overwhelming advantage in the sea. If Zhang Ping fought it there without using the Coiling Dragon Venerable, his chances of winning would be slim.
The problem was, the longer he looked at Apophis, the more it resembled the dark shadow that had raised the tsunami.
And it had been impersonating the Oceanfolk's ancestor in the Great Rift. It clearly meant them harm. The Oceanfolk might be deeply hostile to the Landfolk, but Zhang Ping knew that came from too little contact between them.
After all, the Oceanfolk spent most of their time gathered around Li Aoxue. Clearly, they could communicate and unite around a common goal.
They were all human. Zhang Ping couldn't just stand by and watch.
Every head on Apophis had come from a human being!
Just then, countless vines extended from the Great Rift. Human heads along them fixed their eyes on the Coiling Dragon Venerable, and one relatively intact head spoke. "Intruder, hand over your head, and I'll spare your life!"
Only then did Zhang Ping realize the vines weren't plants at all. They were tentacles made of flesh and blood.
That was right.
They were more tentacles than vines. The disguise was so convincing that no one would spot the difference without a close look.
Zhang Ping almost laughed. How could anyone hand over their head and not die?
The demand was a contradiction in itself.
"Kill!"
Zhang Ping narrowed his eyes and gave the Coiling Dragon Venerable the order.
With permission granted, the Coiling Dragon Venerable's eyes blazed green.
