Feng Laixian's roar ceased as Zuo Xiangming departed.
He rose and quickly returned to the top of the city wall, looking toward the west. Sure enough, the western gate stood wide open. At the same time, a mixed army of Living Corpses and Awakened had occupied key locations within the city, even heavily surrounding several densely populated residential areas.

Yet they did not immediately begin fighting. Instead, both sides faced off, their eyes fixed on Wu Ruoyu and Feng Laixian.
"Hall Master Wu, why?" Feng Laixian stared at Wu Ruoyu and asked each word through clenched teeth.
Wu Ruoyu asked, "Hall Master Feng, what do you think of Mingzhu City?"
Without waiting for Feng Laixian to answer, he turned to look at the lights of the residential district behind him. He sighed and said, "Look. Those countless lights are dazzling, yet fragile. More than two hundred people in Mingzhu City die to Mutated Beast attacks every year. We seem able to do nothing but cling to this little patch of land. Have you ever considered that perhaps we could live another way?"
"So that's how it was. The student who came to my hall and preached the Human King Supremacy Theory was one of yours." Feng
