Clock Cat was incredibly fast, but that speed came at the cost of agility and flexibility.
Simply put, Clock Cat's attacks were too straight. They did not even curve a little. Against someone with Deep Sea Apostle's terrifying combat prowess, attacks like that were easy to dodge no matter how fast they were. Predicting them in advance was no trouble at all.
Of course, understanding that was one thing. If Nameless had to fight on his own, he could never do it as perfectly as Deep Sea Apostle. And if Clock Cat changed its approach, he certainly could not react and respond correctly as quickly as Deep Sea Apostle could.
So for now, he mostly watched the show and occasionally lent Deep Sea Apostle a hand.
Clock Cat also realized that its attacks could not hit Nameless. Instead, Nameless managed to strike back a little from time to time. After landing, it stopped attacking and stared at him gravely.
"Still think this is fun?" Nameless asked with a smile.
"It truly is endlessly entertaining," Clock Cat said earnestly. "I'm very glad I came here to accept your challenge!"
"Then it's my turn to get serious. After all, I don't have much time left." Nameless narrowed his eyes slightly and smiled.
While Deep Sea Apostle had been controlling his body in battle, Nameless had not been idle. He had transformed many of the surrounding bacteria into shells. They drifted through the air and spread everywhere, gradually forming a hidden network of shells.
Deep Sea Apostle already understood his battle plan and charged straight at Clock Cat. After a moment's surprise, Clock Cat sprang forward in a pounce.
But just as they were about to collide, Nameless vanished. Clock Cat pounced on empty air.
