Those were the sounds of feet stamping the ground, every step shaking the earth.
In the woods not far beyond the village entrance, trees toppled to either side as an enormous black beetle slowly emerged. Seated cross-legged on its back was a Lion-Ant-Bee with antlers.
This Lion-Ant-Bee was exceptionally brawny; merely looking at it gave one the sense of overwhelming strength. A red gemstone sat in its chest, flames burning within it. From time to time, flames burst from inside the gem, only to be inhaled directly through the Lion-Ant-Bee's nostrils before it exhaled a plume of white smoke.
Di Shikun sat cross-legged on the ground without immediately getting up. Holding a Lion-Ant-Bee thigh, he took a bite and asked, "Are you the monster's boss, or just another lackey? A minor leader?"
The Antlered Lion-Ant-Bee suddenly hunched over, bracing both hands against its knees. Its lips puckered as it spewed out a scorching beam.
It was not actually a beam of light, but high-pressure flame.
In an instant, Di Shikun tore off his own arm and threw it away. The flames descended the next moment, directly vaporizing his body and turning the ground into magma.
That arm was still flying through the air when it rapidly began to grow. The Antlered Lion-Ant-Bee glanced at it from the corner of its eye, raised its head, and swept its gaze over it. Firelight fell upon the arm, and the entire limb was immediately carbonized in the blaze.
After dealing with the arm, the Antlered Lion-Ant-Bee did not stop attacking. Instead, it violently shook its head, flames sweeping continuously through the surroundings. In the blink of an eye, the village was engulfed in a sea of fire.
The flames burned for over fifteen minutes before the Antlered Lion-Ant-Bee slowly reduced
