Owl floated in midair, staring at a lone Spotted-Horn Horse that had strayed from its herd.
At that moment, he rather missed the urge he had felt at noon. If a bowl of noodles could appear out of thin air again, that would be wonderful.
Unfortunately, that strange ability really seemed to have vanished. He had waited from noon until dusk, then from dusk until nightfall, but that urge never appeared again.
So he had to hunt for food himself. After all, he was still human and needed to eat.
Spotted-Horn Horses were herd animals. Under normal circumstances, a herd consisted of roughly twenty to fifty Spotted-Horn Horses. They were unlike zebras; rather than black-and-white stripes, their bodies were covered in dense diamond-shaped patterns of black and white, resembling scattered flowers.
In some places, Spotted-Horn Horses were also called Broken-Flower Horses or Diamond-Horn Horses.

They were close relatives of Lightning Horses and likewise had a single horn growing from their foreheads. However, their horns were shorter than those of Lightning Horses. A Lightning Horse's horn was generally half a meter long, while most Spotted-Horn Horses had horns only around twenty centimeters long, looking like a radish.
For that very reason, Lightning Horses were solitary creatures, while Spotted-Horn Horses lived in herds.
Lightning Horses were incredibly fast, and their attacks were extremely precise. They could use their horns to effectively pierce an enemy's vital points. They had no need for companions, possessing powerful mobility and combat strength on their own.
Because their horns were relatively short and their speed was far inferior to that of Lightning Horses, Spotted-Horn Horses needed a herd. Once a herd formed up, even with their short horns, no beast dared meet their sharp edge.
