Highwind City was a city of plants. Whether houses or roads, most were wooden structures, with only a small amount of stone and metal.

Aiou, Xina, and Mani passed through the crowd and arrived at Highwind City's gate. Beyond it stretched a grassland.

Wherever humans lived, there generally would not be much wildlife. Highwind City was an exception, however, because the grassland was filled with Rocktooth Rats. These were strange creatures that loved eating weathered rock, were exceptionally good at burrowing, and reproduced at an astonishing rate.

They dug holes beneath the grass, and players often stepped on them and caved them in while passing by, leaving the area outside Highwind City riddled with pits and hollows.

It was not as if players had never considered dealing with the Rocktooth Rats, but after killing one batch, another would come. There was simply no way to kill them all.

Moreover, Rocktooth Rats had very little meat, and what little there was tasted bitter and carried the stench of feces and urine. It was also poisonous to humans, so killing them brought no benefit whatsoever.
