Ch. 481The Monstrous Life Tree

Edison revealed how he had transformed Emerald City’s people into nutrients for the Life Tree in exchange for near-immortality, then fought Owl and the others. Owl’s Form-Slaying Sword killed Edison, but Sa warned the team that the Life Tree was not finished.

  • Edison explained that a fall into a well had given him strange knowledge, which he used to turn Emerald City’s inhabitants into sustenance for the Life Tree and gain an almost infinite lifespan.
  • Long Na, Trevor, and Jin Dong attacked Edison together, and Long Na’s spear pierced his waist while Sa held back her Instant-Death Bullet.
  • The Life Tree healed Edison and changed into a six-legged form as the group continued their assault.
  • Owl used Red Thread to locate Edison through the smoke and sent the Form-Slaying Sword through his shield and skull, killing him instantly.
  • The Life Tree stood motionless after Edison’s death, but Sa warned the others that the fight was not over.

Ch. 482Archdruid

Mu Lun, a powerful Archdruid hiding in the Life Tree, revealed himself after Owl and his companions defeated Edison, then attacked them when they uncovered his interest in the treasure beneath the well. Owl was wounded as Mu Lun sealed Emerald City in a storm, leaving the group fighting to survive.

  • Owl attacked the Life Tree, and Mu Lun emerged, caught the Form-Slaying Sword, and introduced himself as an Archdruid with the strength of ten dragons.
  • Mu Lun returned Owl’s sword and demanded that the group leave, but Owl and the others suspected he was guarding treasure beneath the well.
  • Mu Lun revealed that he had secretly studied the runes below the well and attacked when Owl’s group refused to leave.
  • Mu Lun caught Trevor’s Meteor Hammer, hurled it back at him, and struck Jin Dong hard enough to damage his armor.
  • Mu Lun summoned a storm that sealed Emerald City and cut Owl’s neck with a wind blade as Owl fought back and Sa fired at Mu Lun.
  • Owl drank a healing potion while Sa’s bullets struck Mu Lun’s branches, forcing him to sever them and raise an energy shield.

Ch. 483Unstable Mysterious Potion

Owl and Sa fought Mu Lun while he tried to wear Owl down, and Owl eventually drank a mysterious potion Mu Lun desperately wanted. Mu Lun transformed into a dragon-tree monster as Owl’s soul fell into another world and encountered a strange corpse.

  • Mu Lun attacked Sa and Owl with roots, wind, and a dragon claw, while Owl used overclocking to dodge and Sa’s bullets destroyed a wooden leopard made from a peach.
  • The Coal-Eating Dragon and Long Na struggled against Mu Lun’s roots, leaving Owl and Sa without help as Mu Lun tried to exhaust Owl’s stamina.
  • Owl repeatedly called on Three Thousand Motherly Loves for help and received several useless objects before pulling out an Unstable Mysterious Potion.
  • Mu Lun offered to spare everyone if Owl handed over the potion, but Owl drank it instead.
  • Mu Lun transformed into an enormous half-dragon, half-tree monster while Owl’s soul fell through another world and found a strange corpse.

Ch. 484Divine Roaming at a Glance

Chapter Summary: “Divine Roaming at a Glance”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Owl’s soul is transported to a mysterious world, where he encounters a gigantic, ancient-yet-living corpse. The being radiates overwhelming contradiction: one eye embodies madness and killing intent, while the other expresses compassion and goodwill.
  • Just as Owl’s soul is about to disintegrate from the corpse’s presence, the corpse flicks his forehead. Owl’s soul is violently sent back through countless worlds and returns to his body.
  • Owl awakens just as Mu Lun launches his strongest attack: a combination of Storm Dragon Breath and Nature’s Wrath. The blast destroys the surrounding buildings, but Owl emerges completely unharmed.
  • Owl discovers that the potion he drank granted him the one-time talent “Divine Roaming at a Glance.” His soul had found the strongest life-form in another world and copied its physical attributes and bodily abilities.
  • Although Knowledge Eye cannot identify the corpse or explain Owl’s new powers, Owl quickly demonstrates extraordinary strength. He wounds Mu Lun by casually striking his dragon claw with displaced air, piercing both Mu Lun’s body and soul.
  • Owl defeats Mu Lun with a single punch. Mu Lun’s final thoughts recall his childhood ideals, his desire to become a Hero Druid, his later betrayal of the Oak Patrol, and his descent into darkness.
  • Mu Lun and the Life Tree are destroyed, the surrounding tornadoes vanish, and Emerald City is saved.
  • Owl distributes healing potions to the injured survivors. His companions are astonished by his transformation and uncertain how powerful he has become.

Character Developments

  • Owl: Gains an immensely powerful new body, apparently copied from the mysterious corpse. He becomes nearly invulnerable, possesses terrifying physical strength, and displays precise control over his power. However, he does not understand the true extent or nature of his abilities and remains disturbed by the corpse’s existence.
  • Mu Lun: Receives a tragic final characterization. His memories reveal that he began as an idealistic child who wished to protect nature, but love, exile, revenge, ambition, and the pursuit of immortality gradually transformed him into a Dark Druid. His death suggests a final confrontation with the person he once wanted to be.
  • Coal-Eating Dragon: Shifts from confidence to shock and awe after witnessing Owl’s overwhelming power. He humorously underestimates Owl’s strength by comparing it to “ten dragons,” while believing it may actually be closer to a hundred.
  • Sa and the other survivors: Recover with Owl’s healing potions and react with amazement to his altered appearance and strength.

Significant Themes

  • Transformation and identity: Owl’s body and abilities change radically, raising questions about whether power gained from another being also changes one’s identity.
  • Contradiction and mystery: The corpse embodies mutually opposed qualities—life and death, antiquity and freshness, madness and compassion—making it an unknowable supernatural presence.
  • Power without understanding: Owl gains near-limitless strength before understanding how it works, creating both awe and danger.
  • The corruption of ideals: Mu Lun’s history illustrates how noble intentions can be destroyed by personal choices, attachment, resentment, and the hunger for power.
  • Redemption and regret: Mu Lun’s final memories reconnect him with his childhood ideals, suggesting that his original self still existed beneath his corruption.
  • Control versus destruction: Unlike Mu Lun’s explosive attack, Owl learns to concentrate his power perfectly, directing all of its force into a single decisive punch.

Important Character Interactions

  • The mysterious corpse silently interacts with Owl by flicking his forehead, triggering his return and transformation.
  • Owl withstands Mu Lun’s ultimate attack, shocking Mu Lun and overturning the power balance between them.
  • Owl’s casual attack injures Mu Lun at both physical and spiritual levels, causing Mu Lun severe pain.
  • Owl’s final punch kills Mu Lun and ends the threat to Emerald City.
  • Afterward, Owl supports the injured group by providing healing potions, while the Coal-Eating Dragon examines his transformed body and Sa questions whether he can return to normal.

Ch. 485Volume Two

After Divine Roaming at a Glance transformed Owl’s body, he tested his new strength and discovered that he was immune to fire. He and Sa descended the well to receive the second volume of the Great Eating Sutra, and Owl realized Sa could absorb its inheritance without suffering the overload he had endured.

  • Owl explained Divine Roaming at a Glance to Sa, then used an indestructible pair of underpants while the Coal-Eating Dragon tested his toughness.
  • The Coal-Eating Dragon’s strongest punch broke its own claw and arm without harming Owl, and its flames could not burn him.
  • Owl and Sa jumped into the well and passed through the light curtain to reach the inheritance patterns.
  • Owl received the second volume’s cooking knowledge, including instructions for preparing Lion-Ant-Bees and cultivating a Life Tree, and regretted destroying Mu Lun’s tree.
  • Sa touched the inheritance patterns without adverse effects, so Owl decided she should receive the first volume after they left Emerald City, depending on their route.

Ch. 486An isolated island at sea

After inheriting the second volume of the Great Eating Sutra, Owl and Sa discovered that Emerald City lay on an isolated island far from the mainland. Unable to locate a safe route across the sea, they began considering how to build a boat, while Sa cooked their first meal on the beach.

  • Owl gained Ingredient Radar from the inheritance, and he and Sa left Emerald City with Long Na and the Coal-Eating Dragon.
  • The group discovered they were stranded on an unmapped island, and Owl failed to find the mainland using the Spatial Ring.
  • Long Na caught a Horsehead Fish, and Sa revealed her new ability to create cooking utensils before preparing it for everyone.
  • Owl decided against relying on Three Thousand Motherly Loves to return to the mainland and agreed that they would build a boat.
  • Jin Dong said he knew a little about making a wooden raft, while the others admitted they did not know how to build a boat.

Ch. 487A Fish Feast

Owl and his companions rested on an island and considered how to reach the mainland, settling on having Owl search for a boat. While Long Na and Sa fished in the sea, Owl defeated a huge Axe-Tailed Fish and brought it ashore for a sashimi feast, but an eagle's cry interrupted the meal.

  • Owl and the others decided he would search for the mainland and might buy a boat to bring back in his ring.
  • Long Na and Sa went swimming and caught fish, while Owl sensed a powerful presence approaching them.
  • Owl stomped the water and knocked a nearly fifty-meter-long Axe-Tailed Fish unconscious, then stored it in his ring.
  • Owl identified the fish and prepared fresh sashimi for the Coal-Eating Dragon, Trevor, and Jin Dong.
  • Owl looked up when a piercing eagle's cry rang out overhead.

Ch. 488Inverted Vine

Chapter Summary: Inverted Vine

Key Plot Points and Events

  • Owl notices a giant eagle appearing on an isolated island, despite there being no visible way for it to have crossed the surrounding waters.
  • He follows the eagle through the clouds and discovers a hidden island suspended in the sky by two enormous Inverted Vines.
  • The Inverted Vine should only exist in worlds rich in Primeval Essence, making its presence in Owl’s world highly abnormal. Its sap can awaken and strengthen superpowers and may even enhance the soul.
  • Owl lands on the island and begins collecting its unusual creatures as ingredients, defeating powerful beasts—including Spotted Boars, Nine-Headed Cobras, Bone Wolves, Ironback Gorilla Kings, and Titan Dragonclaw Crocodiles—with a single punch each.
  • As he approaches the vine, the beasts become increasingly strange and mutated. He eventually reaches a White Ape guarding the Inverted Vine.
  • The White Ape can transform into smoke and reform its body. It summons three additional elemental apes: a red fire ape, a blue lightning ape, and a black water ape.
  • Owl easily withstands their combined attacks, disperses the water ape, and overpowers the others. The White Ape becomes terrified as Owl prepares to confront it.
  • During the battle, Owl gains a clearer understanding of the extraordinary physical abilities he copied from a corpse, realizing that combat helps him perceive subtle changes within his body.

Character Developments

  • Owl demonstrates an enormous increase in strength, speed, durability, and combat awareness. He defeats creatures that would previously have required his Form-Slaying Sword.
  • His armor remains damaged from his earlier battle with Mu Lun, forcing him to rely more heavily on his natural abilities.
  • Owl becomes increasingly curious about the limits and nature of his copied physical powers. The battle allows him to begin reverse-engineering how those abilities function.
  • His confidence borders on casual arrogance: even when surrounded by four powerful elemental apes, he treats the fight as an opportunity to test himself.
  • The White Ape, initially acting as guardian of the vine, shifts from aggression to fear after realizing that Owl is overwhelmingly stronger.
  • The elemental apes function as extensions or manifestations of the White Ape’s abilities, each possessing a different elemental form and attack style.

Significant Themes

  • Anomalies and hidden worlds: The Inverted Vine and floating island contradict the known laws of Owl’s world, suggesting the presence of unknown forces or connections to other realms.
  • Power awakening and evolution: The vine’s sap represents a means of gaining and strengthening superpowers, while Owl’s own development shows his body evolving through battle.
  • Discovery through combat: Owl learns about himself not through deliberate experimentation but by fighting increasingly powerful opponents.
  • The limits of knowledge: Even the Great Eating Sutra cannot explain the island’s mutated creatures, emphasizing how unfamiliar and extraordinary this environment is.
  • Predator and prey: Owl enters the island as a hunter seeking ingredients, but the guardian beasts gradually recognize that he is a threat far beyond their ability to resist.

Character Interactions

  • Owl follows the giant eagle, using its movements to locate the hidden island.
  • He encounters and effortlessly defeats numerous island beasts, treating them both as threats and potential ingredients.
  • The White Ape attacks Owl, but Owl’s speed and strength overwhelm its smoke-transformation defense.
  • The White Ape summons the red, blue, and black apes to assist it.
  • Owl blocks the blue ape’s lightning attack, stops the red ape’s punch, disperses the black ape’s water form, and hurls the blue ape into the red ape.
  • After defeating the elemental apes, Owl directly challenges the frightened White Ape while continuing to uncover the true nature of his powers.

Ch. 489God of War's Heart

Owl discovered that combat strengthened his body and that the God of War Heart let him control his immense power precisely. After fighting the island’s beasts without killing them, he drank Inverted Vine sap and awakened the God of War’s will, leaving him stronger and no longer merely a lucky recipient of power.

  • Owl realized that fighting increased his physical attributes and decided to take every battle seriously.
  • White Ape and the other guardian apes fled, so Owl collected sap from the Inverted Vine until an elderly ape attacked him.
  • Owl fought the elderly ape, then faced the island’s gathered beasts and knocked them unconscious without killing them.
  • Owl drank Inverted Vine sap, which strengthened his body and transformed the God of War Heart into the God of War’s Heart.

Ch. 490Only Today Did I Know I Was Myself

After connecting with Mother, Owl accepted that they were one being and led his companions from the island by boat. Meanwhile, Di Shikun joined the Baisen Cult, and the factions focused their search on Sa, whose connection to the Ancestral Well could grant them the supreme inheritance.

  • Owl explained to Sa and Long Na that Mother and her clones were all parts of one whole, and he had become more fully himself through their connection.
  • Owl confirmed the Baisen Cult's sky blockade still surrounded their world, then spent a week building a sailboat after failing to find the mainland.
  • Owl and his companions boarded the boat and left the island with their gathered supplies.
  • Di Shikun killed Magus and defeated members of the Venom God Cult and Myriad Beasts Alliance who confronted him, then joined the Baisen Cult after its recruitment succeeded.
  • The factions learned that taking Sa to the Ancestral Well could grant them the supreme inheritance, but Owl had disappeared with her.

Ch. 491Practicing Fist Techniques

Owl trained Jin Dong, Trevor, and Long Na in fistfighting aboard the ship, making them earn their meals by sparring with him. Meanwhile, wanted notices branded Owl and his companions as traitors, and Long Na’s unexpected use of her tail left the sparring match unresolved.

  • The Desperate Frontier Guard split into factions, while the unified coastal cities posted notices accusing Owl and his companions of betraying humanity and helping the Lion-Ant-Bees.
  • Owl made Jin Dong, Trevor, and Long Na fight him before they could eat, using the bouts to practice his newly developed fist technique.
  • Jin Dong attacked first, but Owl read his movements and wore him down before letting him qualify for the meal.
  • Trevor tried an improvised rolling kick, but Owl caught his ankle and flung him into the railing.
  • The Coal-Eating Dragon explained that Owl anticipated their moves, and Long Na tried to counter him with repeated pounces.
  • Long Na’s tail curled around Owl’s foot as he dodged her attacks.

Ch. 492Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon

Owl recognized the strange rain as an enemy’s artificial attack and fought off a hailstorm launched by a white-robed man. As the enemy summoned a powerful dragon beneath the sea, Owl jumped into the water and left his companions to protect the boat from the falling ice.

  • After sparring and sharing a meal, Owl told Trevor, Jin Dong, Long Na, and Sa that he might pursue the highest peak of martial arts after they defeated the Lion-Ant-Bees.
  • Owl and his companions spent a week sailing through calm seas before dark clouds brought rain that smelled of seawater.
  • Owl identified the rain as artificial and spotted a white-robed man manipulating the weather from the clouds.
  • The white-robed man unleashed hail and summoned the Dragon of Awakening Insects beneath the sea, while Owl shattered the ice before it reached the boat.
  • Owl ordered Jin Dong, Trevor, Sa, and Long Na to block the hail, then jumped into the sea to confront the dragon.

Ch. 493Brought to His Knees

Owl defeated Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon underwater and forced him to dispel his attacks before bringing him aboard the deck. Long Na and the others interrogated the captive, who revealed he had ambushed them because Owl possessed a great fortuitous opportunity.

  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon attacked Owl underwater with Dao arts, but Owl smashed his Black Tortoise and used a double to seize him from behind.
  • Owl forced Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon to release his abilities, then brought him to the deck and ordered him to kneel.
  • Trevor, Jin Dong, and Long Na demanded to know who had ambushed them, and Long Na wounded Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon in both legs to make him answer.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon identified himself as the inheritor of Strange Gates and Hidden Armor, a lineage with only one inheritor per generation.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon admitted he had ambushed the group because Owl possessed a great fortuitous opportunity.

Ch. 494Fate Alteration

Owl learned that Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon wanted to steal a heaven-bestowed romantic bond, but the man could not identify Owl’s fate and was bound to Owl by Fate Alteration. After deciding to seize the techniques of those who came after him, Owl rethought what it meant to be a war god and demonstrated a startling new movement in his boxing.

  • Long Na interrogated Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon, who revealed that he sought Owl’s heaven-bestowed romantic bond and had a spell to steal marriage bonds.
  • Owl forced Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon to examine his marriage bonds, but the man collapsed and admitted he could not see through them.
  • Owl used Fate Alteration to bind Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon’s life and death to himself, then ordered Jin Dong to carry him below and heal him.
  • Owl decided to capture and interrogate the people seeking his fated opportunity so he could learn their methods.
  • Owl practiced several boxing styles and realized that a war god could use any method to end war.
  • Owl demonstrated a sudden, nearly imperceptible forward movement that left Trevor startled by the kick stopping close to his face.

Ch. 495The Last to Know

Owl taught Long Na and the others his unusual boxing before questioning the captured Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon about the factions and powerful figures pursuing them. They learned that Magus had attacked them after the Lion-Ant-Bees were wiped out, leaving the group to wonder whether their battle to save the world was already over.

  • Owl agreed to teach Long Na his boxing, then demonstrated it to the others as they practiced through the evening.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon recognized that Owl controlled his fate and revealed that Sa carried an Inheritance Imprint and seventeen factions had appeared.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon named several formidable experts, including Wan Weiyi and Great Elementalist Jack Long, while Trevor joked about joining the Goddess Alliance.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon told the group that the Lion-Ant-Bees were already dead and that Magus had attacked them after losing the monsters he had raised.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon explained the sneak attack, revealing that Magus had destroyed the Void Mushroom Market, and the group wondered if they could return home now that the disaster had ended.

Ch. 496Landfall

After the Lion-Ant-Bee crisis ended, Owl and his companions sailed for the mainland, where they parted ways and Owl headed toward War God Mountain with Sa and Long Na. Trevor set out alone to find his grandfather, but after reaching a town, he discovered that people recognized his name and treated him with hatred.

  • Owl learned from Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon that he could use wind and currents to shorten their voyage to less than a week, and the group reinforced the ship and activated runes to speed it along.
  • Long Na decided to stay with Owl and Sa because she had no home and could not rebuild Dragonbone City, while Jin Dong and Trevor planned to pursue their own responsibilities after reaching land.
  • The ship struck a submerged reef near the mainland and sank, so the Coal-Eating Dragon carried everyone safely to shore.
  • Owl, Sa, and Long Na flew toward War God Mountain, while Jin Dong and Trevor said goodbye and went their separate ways.
  • Trevor spent five days alone in the woods, then reached a town, exchanged jade for Sun Coins, cleaned up at an inn, and ordered a meal.
  • The innkeeper and waiter appeared respectful when Trevor signed his name, but they showed hatred toward him once they turned away.

Ch. 497Unable to Draw the Blade

Summary: “Unable to Draw the Blade”

Key Plot Points and Events

  • After five days of travel, Owl, Sa, and Long Na approach War God Mountain aboard the Coal-Eating Dragon. The forest below remains lifeless after the Lion-Ant-Bees’ devastation.
  • Owl deliberately instructed Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon to announce that he had obtained the complete inheritance. His goal was to lure hidden enemies into attacking so he could eliminate them before they endangered innocent people.
  • A black-clad warrior, Jue Xin of the Severing Blade Sect, confronts Owl on a mountain peak, seeking the inheritance.
  • Owl challenges Jue Xin to defeat him and claim the opportunity. Their battle begins with Owl using overwhelming, unpredictable punches.
  • Jue Xin’s fighting style depends on the Absolute Blade and the Heaven-and-Earth Severing Life-Slaying Heart-Questioning Art:
    • The Earth-Severing Eye identifies an opponent’s weaknesses.
    • The Heaven-Severing Eye predicts whether a blade strike will succeed.
    • Because the Absolute Blade is intended to kill with one decisive draw, Jue Xin refuses to unsheathe it unless victory is guaranteed.
  • Although Jue Xin repeatedly identifies openings in Owl’s defenses, his Heaven-Severing Eye continually predicts that every possible strike will fail. He is forced to evade Owl’s attacks instead.
  • Owl wounds Jue Xin several times, cutting off his ear and injuring his back, then mockingly offers to stand still so Jue Xin can finally draw his blade.
  • Jue Xin becomes psychologically trapped by his own technique and conditioning. Unable to find a successful strike, he cannot physically draw his sword despite desperately wanting to.
  • In a fit of despair, Jue Xin collapses, suffers massive internal bleeding, and dies without ever unsheathing his blade.
  • Owl is left bewildered and disappointed, questioning whether the enemies described as powerful—including Wan Weiyi—are truly formidable.

Character Developments

  • Owl: Demonstrates greatly increased confidence, strength, and composure after obtaining the complete inheritance. He deliberately provokes hidden enemies, overwhelms Jue Xin through raw power, and remains relaxed throughout the fight. His casual victory also reveals his growing underestimation of his opponents.
  • Jue Xin: Initially appears arrogant and confident in the Severing Blade Sect’s legendary technique. However, his absolute reliance on the Heaven-Severing Eye leaves him mentally paralyzed when it predicts failure every time. His confidence deteriorates into obsession and despair, ultimately causing his death.
  • Sa and Long Na: Remain behind with the Coal-Eating Dragon while Owl handles the confrontation, highlighting Owl’s protective role and their trust in his strength.
  • Celestial Phenomenon Riding Dragon: His earlier announcement successfully helps draw enemies like Jue Xin into the open, advancing Owl’s plan.

Significant Themes

  • Strength versus technique: Jue Xin possesses an elaborate and highly specialized combat system, but Owl’s overwhelming physical power and unpredictability render it useless.
  • The danger of absolute certainty: Jue Xin’s blade technique depends on perfect prediction. Once the technique cannot identify a guaranteed victory, his confidence and ability to act collapse completely.
  • Self-imposed limitations: Jue Xin is not defeated merely because Owl is stronger; he is trapped by his own rules and dependence on the Heaven-Severing Eye.
  • Provocation as strategy: Owl intentionally publicizes his inheritance to force hidden enemies into revealing themselves, turning their greed and ambition against them.
  • Transformation and maturity: Owl’s restrained gaze and grandmaster-like bearing show how far he has developed since his earlier, more naïve self.

Character Interactions

  • Owl protects Sa and Long Na by ordering them to remain with the dragon while he confronts Jue Xin alone.
  • Owl and Jue Xin exchange confident threats before fighting: Jue Xin promises to sever Owl’s limbs, while Owl openly threatens to beat him to death.
  • During the battle, Owl repeatedly taunts Jue Xin for failing to draw his blade, intensifying Jue Xin’s frustration.
  • Jue Xin’s inability to act turns the confrontation from a battle into a psychological breakdown, while Owl watches in confusion rather than fear.

Ch. 498War God Mountain

Owl reached War God Mountain with Sa and Long Na after killing the hair-covered woman and naming Jue Xin’s saber Dragon Sparrow. They explored the abandoned Venom God Cult base beneath the mountain, then encountered a boy riding an enormous frog, which attacked them as the chapter ended.

  • Owl took Jue Xin’s saber, named it Dragon Sparrow, and killed the hair-covered woman who attacked the Coal-Eating Dragon.
  • Owl, Sa, and Long Na arrived at War God Mountain and opened a staircase into its hollow interior.
  • The group searched the old Lion-Ant-Bees’ nest, found evidence of the Venom God Cult’s defeat and earlier looting, and collected its remaining books and documents.
  • After leaving the underground base, the group met a boy on an enormous frog, and Owl cut apart the frog’s attacking tongue.

Ch. 499Lion King

Owl fought the Lion King, a Beast King of the Myriad Beasts Alliance, and revealed overwhelming strength and defense. After Owl killed Catwoman and other Alliance members, the enraged Lion King charged at him again.

  • The Lion King revealed his golden lion form after Owl cut down his frog, and Owl sent him crashing through a mountain.
  • The Lion King avoided Owl’s blade energy, but Owl challenged him to fight barehanded and shrugged off his punches.
  • The Lion King severed his own hand to escape Owl’s grip, but Owl pursued him and kicked him through the forest.
  • The Myriad Beasts Alliance members surrounded Owl, and he killed a cheetah-masked attacker before warning the others to stand down.
  • Catwoman ordered the Alliance members to seize Sa and Long Na, but Owl killed her and continued toward the Lion King.
  • The Lion King learned Catwoman had died and charged at Owl in a rage.

Ch. 500Threat level rising

Owl defeated the Myriad Beasts Alliance leaders, spared their followers, and left the Lion King alive after his soul was destroyed. Days later, Wan Weiyi, Jack Dragon, and the Tiger Emperor examined the crater where the Lion King died and discussed the inheritance and Sa.

  • Owl killed Catwoman and the Lion King’s soul, then drove off the Myriad Beasts Alliance members who had charged at Sa and Long Na.
  • Owl discovered the Lion King’s body was regenerating and chose not to kill him, but the Lion King later became a wild beast and was seized through a fissure in the sky.
  • Hawkins planned to create a space in Infinite City to raise monsters for ingredients and to rent out as summoned beasts, and the Lion King became an unexpected addition.
  • Several days later, Wan Weiyi and Jack Dragon inspected the crater at the foot of War God Mountain, where the Lion King had died.
  • Wan Weiyi suggested that Owl’s strength might exceed their ability to handle, while Jack Dragon rejected forming an alliance and said he wanted to pursue Sa as a possible key to the inheritance.
  • The Tiger Emperor questioned Jack Dragon’s theory about Sa, then left; Wan Weiyi and Jack Dragon departed separately.
