Mo Yuan switched screens and checked the Federal Parliament's official news channel.
Parliament had yet to make any comment on the Spirit Pagoda's price hikes.
Worth mentioning, though, was that Fu Moxin's communicator seemed to have been ringing off the hook.
As things stood, anyone who called Fu Moxin through Soul-Conducting Communication was guaranteed to get a busy signal.
Mo Yuan scratched his head and called Fu Moxin, then used a little trick to bypass the busy signal and move himself straight to the front of the queue.
"Hello... are you calling about the Spirit Pagoda's price hikes? I've already..."
"It's me, Old Fu."
"Hm? Mo Yuan?" Fu Moxin moved the Soul Guidance Communicator away from his ear and glanced at the name displayed on it, confirming that he had heard correctly.
"It really is you. I was so swamped just now that I didn't notice who was calling."
"I understand, I understand. Something this big did happen out of nowhere, after all. So, is Parliament planning to issue a statement about the Spirit Pagoda's price hikes?"
Fu Moxin sighed and said helplessly, "Parliament is assessing the impact of the incident and won't issue an official statement for now. I'll probably call an emergency meeting of the Economic Affairs Committee this afternoon to discuss it. You know how it is. That's the trouble with the Federation: whether a matter is big or small, there's always room for wrangling."
Then he abruptly changed tack. "But I imagine you expected all this, didn't you? Honestly, even I didn't expect the Spirit Pagoda to resort to such a blatant method and make such an ugly scene. They probably never intended to bring this to a graceful end. Is the conflict between you really that deep?"
"Eh, who knows? But I actually know all
