An Unexpected Encounter with the Twins

"Scourgify! Scourgify! Scourgify!"

Li Wei activated Triple Casting and cast Scourgify three times from head to toe. At last, he felt that the strange smell and grime were gone from his body.

"Disillusionment Charm!"

After putting the Disillusionment Charm on himself again, Li Wei happily skipped and hopped, ready to return to the dormitory to rest.

"Clang, clang!"

"Crash!"

A string of noisy sounds suddenly came from the distant corridor, mixed with Peeves's loud, rhyming shouts:

"Little wizards! Not asleep! Roaming school in midnight deep!"

"Filch! You nuisance! Dogs bite dogs and lose their fur!"

Li Wei frowned as he heard the chaotic footsteps drawing closer. He quickly pressed himself against the wall.

He still had a month of detention waiting for him with Professor McGonagall!

He did not want Filch to catch him and send him before a professor for punishment again. If that happened, he really would have no free time left!

With his back against the wall, Li Wei looked toward the source of the noise.

Under the dim moonlight, he discovered in astonishment that the ones Peeves had maliciously set up, drawing Filch into pursuit, were actually the Weasley Twins!

What was going on?

How had two seasoned nighttime wanderers stumbled like this?

Li Wei discreetly drew his wand. The instant the Weasley Twins ran past, he cast the Disillusionment Charm twice, then pulled them into hiding by feel.

The Weasley Twins were smart as well. They knew that whoever had saved them at a time like this was definitely a friend, not an enemy. They silently stood beside Li Wei without making a sound.

All Li Wei could hear was their faint, hurried breathing as they tried hard to suppress it.

When the Weasley Twins vanished, Peeves, who arrived right after them, froze for only
