A Dark, Windy Night

Night had fallen deep. The moon hid itself behind a dark cloud, and the stars had vanished as well. Beneath the heavens, the land lay pitch-black.

Across the wilderness, wild grass and shrubs swayed in the wind. The only exception was Li Wei's castle, which still radiated a hazy, warm yellow light.

Yet set against the desolate surroundings, it looked more like the terrifying ancient castle from a legend.

If an ordinary person happened upon it, they might even think a vampire lived inside!

In a side hall on the first floor of the castle, Li Wei sat in a recliner before the fireplace with Nami in his arms. By the light of the fire and candles, he sipped coffee and read a novel.

So what if he couldn't connect to the Floo Network?

The special Floo Powder sold in Li Wei's Space MOD allowed him to use a fireplace for long-distance spatial teleportation without relying on the Floo Network.

But Li Wei did not particularly like using fireplaces for long-distance travel.

In his view, with Portkeys and Apparition available, getting himself covered in soot and dirt was simply too stupid!

Li Wei's current Apparition level was not enough to support Apparating directly to Hogwarts.

But with several consecutive short-range teleports, he could travel freely anywhere within England, completely without needing a fireplace!

His methods of communication, however, were somewhat lacking.

For other wizards, the most common means of communication were owls and magical paper airplanes.

Owls could communicate over long distances and even deliver packages.

Magical paper airplanes, on the other hand, could only be used over short distances. Within buildings, wizards preferred the simpler and faster magical paper airplanes.

Li Wei had no need for short-distance communication. What he lacked was a means of communicating over long distances.
