The Black Tortoise was a remarkably good-tempered creature. If other creatures built a kingdom or established a faction on its back while it slept, it would neither get angry nor roll over when it woke.
Instead, it would simply close its eyes again.
After all, by the time it woke again, that faction would probably be gone.
It was very... very... very rare to see a Black Tortoise lose its temper.
But once a Black Tortoise became enraged, the earth shook and the mountains trembled.
The entire Heaven and Earth quaked at this furious roar.
And yet.
Chen Fan stood motionless atop the Strange Dragon, barely a ripple crossing his face. He let the wind whip his clothes about and merely touched the Jade Seal in his robes.
The Jade Seal's still here. No big problem.
A long while passed.
Heaven and Earth gradually settled down. The Black Tortoise stopped growling, but its eyes remained fixed on the Heaven's Mandate Token in his hand.
"Was it the Heaven-Evading Strange Entity's Mandate that locked you up?"
"The Heaven-Evading Strange Entity died by my hand, and I took the Heaven's Mandate Token."
Chen Fan spoke softly, his expression calm.
He would establish his position first. The enemy of his enemy was his friend.

One thing puzzled him slightly. The Heaven's Mandate Token could only lock a sealed space. Where had the Heaven-Evading Strange Entity hidden the Secret Chamber? It was completely invisible to the naked eye.
"Human."
"Unlock it for me, and I'll owe you a favor."
The Black Tortoise waited a full incense stick's worth of time before speaking in a deep voice.
"You can talk?"
