"..."

After a long silence, Chen Fan finally let out a deep breath. He turned toward the Gray Fog outside the Camp and murmured, "This world is still too dangerous. The Camp's defenses are still too weak..."

Aside from the Strange Entities, these Cultivators with all their bizarre abilities weren't easy to deal with either.

All along.

Everyone had told him that Cultivators were weak. Even a Level-Two Cultivator could be instantly killed by a Level-1 Arrow Tower. A Cultivator's strength was utterly insignificant before a Builder's structures.

But...

That only applied to ordinary Cultivators like Zhou Mo.

A special Cultivator like a "Nightwalker" was frighteningly powerful.

He was practically a walking nuclear bomb.

One that could detonate at any moment.

A long while later.

Chen Fan finally looked at Big Fish again. "So now you can keep yourself from being forcibly activated?"

"Yes."

Big Fish nodded again. "Each time I activate, I become more familiar with the Night Watcher's abilities and more comfortable using them."

"Station Master."

"I've already decided to make this place my third home."

"If the Camp is in danger, I'll activate."

"Please don't."

Chen Fan sighed softly. "Your first two homes didn't exactly end well."

"I'll leave the Camp and lure the Strange Entities away before activating."

"Just focus on your work. Stop thinking about activating all the time. You've only got a few years left to live, yet you keep going on about activating."

"A Night Watcher's value lies in activating. A Night Watcher who doesn't activate has no value."

"Enough."

He cut Big Fish off. Everything was clear now, and he finally understood why Big Fish seemed a little childlike. He hadn't lived many years in this world at all—less than five or six altogether.

He really wasn't much different from a child.
