The footage began to play.
It was surveillance video.
The camera was fixed on a street beneath a lamppost.
The familiar scene made Tony feel that something was wrong.
He glanced at the label on the tape.
[December 16, 1991]
That was the date his parents had died in a car accident.
Tony realized something, his brow furrowing deeply. "This road... I remember it."
The tape continued playing.
An out-of-control car suddenly appeared, speeding into a lush tree by the roadside.
The front of the car quickly caught fire.
A motorcycle entered the frame at that moment as well, turning around and skidding to a stop beside the car.
The person in the driver's seat weakly pushed open the door and crawled out.
It was the elderly Howard Stark. He had been badly injured in the collision.
"Help me, save my wife and child. Please, save them..."
He heard the motorcycle and hoped this passerby who had stopped would help. He no longer had the strength to stand.
Yet after stopping his motorcycle, the man walked straight toward Howard and roughly grabbed his hair, hauling his upper body up.
Howard saw the man's face and recognized him instantly.
"Sergeant Barnes!?"
The man on the motorcycle was James Bucky Barnes, who was supposed to have died during World War II.
The moment Howard recognized him, he looked utterly stunned.
He seemed to have thought of many things in an instant.
Perhaps he understood perfectly well.
Since Bucky had appeared here, neither he nor his wife and child could possibly survive.
So he gave up pleading. In his despairing eyes, there gradually appeared a trace of calm acceptance of death.
Outside the screen, anger had already begun spreading across Tony's face.
And the footage continued.
"Howard, Howard..." Maria in the passenger seat
