Leon ignored Hulk, whose intelligence was only that of a three-year-old.

He pointed at the green dotted soul line that had always connected Banner and Hulk.

"See? You're actually the same soul, and he's your other personality."

"You see him as a monster, which means you see yourself as a monster too."

"He's me? So... it turns out I really am a monster now." Banner stared blankly at the green soul line.

Even Leon was taken aback. That was one way to interpret it?

"Whether you're a monster isn't determined by your body, Banner. It's determined by your thoughts and your actions."

He put it another way. "Like what I'm doing to you now—if you learn magic, you can control yourself, and control Hulk too."

"You mean use magic to sever the connection between him and me, separating us?" Banner pondered. "Or kill him on the soul level?"

"Hulk!!" Hulk, who had been poking Leon, immediately objected.

With an angry roar, he leaped up, pounced on Banner, and threw a punch.

Bang!

"Argh, that hurt!"

The punch landed squarely on Banner's face, and both Hulk and Banner cried out in pain.

Their souls were one. Fighting each other was no different from hitting themselves.

"Hulk smash!"

Hulk refused to believe it and kept pummeling Banner, making them both howl in pain again and again.

"Stop, stop hitting me, Hulk! I won't kill you—I won't kill you!" Banner begged.

Hulk realized it too.

Whenever he hit Banner, he felt pain himself.

He disgustedly shook out his hand, stood up, and roared at Banner, "Hulk!"

Then he plopped down on the ground and deliberately turned his head away from Leon.

Everyone else watched the scene in silence, their expressions as though they had seen a ghost.

Leon spread his hands at Banner.
