"Leon, I hope you can take care of yourself from now on. Big bro doesn't know if I can successfully break through tomorrow..."
Another morning.
Leon woke up to the sound of a call echoing by his ear.
At this moment, golden sunlight washed over his entire body, making him look like a handsome knight in a dream touched by holy light.
His black hair stood straight in individual strands, and his eyelashes trembled slightly before he suddenly opened his eyes. His pitch-black pupils seemed to hold a brilliant light rising within them, as dazzling as the sunlight.
"Tony!" Leon instinctively cried out a name.
Tony Stark, his adoptive parents' biological son, his older brother, had just called out to him in a tone that sounded like a final farewell, but Tony's figure was nowhere to be found around him.
He immediately realized: Tony is in trouble! How could this be... Wait, could it be that he didn't listen to my advice in the end and still went to Afghanistan... Damn it, this arrogant guy, I clearly emphasized it to him so many times.
Speechless, Leon reached out and tapped lightly on the electronic display screen beside him.
The smart system quickly responded.
With a click, the restraining belt around Leon's waist unbuckled, and the next moment he drifted gently upward, floating in mid-air.
Not just him.
Around him, tissues, food trays, adhesive tape... all kinds of cluttered objects floated in the air without any rules just like him, looking like a group of plankton submerged in a pool swimming freely.
But this was not a pool.
Instead, it was the interior of a manned spacecraft.
The bed Leon used for sleeping was not a bed either, but rather a titanium alloy plate fixed to the cabin body.
He was tied to this board day and night, constantly facing the roasting sun at every moment.
When hungry he ate fruit purées and meat pastes, when thirsty he drank nutrient solution, and when he needed to use the restroom he directly commanded the smart system to solve it on the spot. It was fair to say there was virtually no difference from growing out of the titanium alloy plate.
Counting the time, he had already spent a full half a year living days like this.
"Although I didn't sunbathe for the two and a half years in the plan, even if I only soaked in the sun for half a year, it's enough."
Leon clenched his fists in mid-air, feeling the sufficiency of power in his body like never before.
At this moment, every cell and every drop of blood throughout his entire body was filled with strength.
As the sunlight's radiance spilled over his bare body, it traced across his chest and arms along his perfect muscle lines.
He could practically hear his own cells cheering, and his blood flowing turbulently like a glacier thawing and merging into a river.
"This is... the power of a Kryptonian!" Leon marveled, gazing through the two-meter-tall transparent spacecraft porthole in front of him at the huge sun hundreds of millions of kilometers away.
Having arrived in this world for nearly nineteen years, he had never imagined that he would so easily acquire power sufficient to upend the world.
Looking at the deep universe starry sky outside the window, Leon could not help but recall his past.
Leon Stark, a traveler.
In his past life, he was called Li Ang, merely an ordinary office worker. He had thought he would live out his life flatly and peacefully.
Unexpectedly, while taking the subway home one day, he stepped forward out of a sense of justice to stop a mentally ill patient who was brandishing a knife and injuring people, only to be stabbed multiple times and die after making a mistake.
When he opened his eyes again, he had already become a baby approaching one year old.
--He had traveled through time, or rather, been reborn, and did not awaken the memories of his past life until he was one year old.
As for his memories prior to one year old, due to incomplete brain development, it was safe to say there were virtually none.
In this world, he was originally an abandoned infant who happened by chance to be adopted by Howard Stark.
The very first glance he cast upon this world after awakening his memories was Tony Stark's crying face.
Poor Tony was covered in tear stains, his eyes swollen and frighteningly red from crying all his tears away as he held him in his arms without saying a word.
Later on, he found out that on the day he awakened his memories, the Stark couple had died in a car accident, and the only survivor inside the vehicle was him.
At that time, he had been tightly pinned beneath a bundle of baby swaddling clothes and discarded casually by the roadside, his neck crudely wrapped twice by the swaddling cloth, with the flaming wreckage of the car burning just a few meters away.
Doctors all said that his ability to survive was simply a miracle, the final miracle left to this world by the Stark couple.
Perhaps Tony also endorsed this statement, treating Leon as the continuation of his parents' lives, and thus genuinely raised Leon like his own younger brother.
Therefore, judging from the facts, rather than saying Howard Stark was Leon's adoptive father, it was more appropriate to say Tony was the one who played the role of both mother and father.
...Of course, he wasn't very good at playing it.
After all, what kind of good father would hang a two-year-old son around his neck to go to cocktail parties and flirt with cover girls, only to return home at night and leave his son on the sofa while he spent the long night sharing intimate moments with a beauty?
Fortunately, Tony later met Pepper Potts.
With Pepper's care, Leon finally rid himself of the predicament of being kept awake by noise every single night.
During those sleepless nights before, Leon hadn't forgotten to mentally rack up a tally against Tony, thinking to himself that once Tony went to Afghanistan, we'll see if you still go on dates with cover girls.
Leon knew that according to the development of the original plot, Tony would sooner or later have to take a trip to Afghanistan.
He had watched essentially all of the Marvel movies in his past life.
When he heard the names of his adoptive parents and older brother, he knew what kind of world he had transmigrated into.
To be honest, the danger index of the Marvel world was far from low.
Let alone those supervillains who popped out to show their faces at every turn before collecting a box lunch, causing massive civilian casualties along the way.
Not to mention if he had transmigrated at the wrong point in time in the Marvel world, before the God of Stories Loki had ascended to the Time Throne.
The moment he landed as a transmigrator, he probably wouldn't even have time to let out a few loud cries before heavily armed Time Variance Authority employees would have dragged him off in cuffs and pruned him.
Fortunately, despite his trepidation, Leon had still successfully lived to the age of eighteen.
He guessed that the timelines of the Multiverse might have already been thrown into disarray, and the Sacred Timeline no longer existed.
This was truly transmigrating at a good time.
However, this still did not change the fact that the Marvel world was extremely dangerous.
--Especially given that he was closely connected to Tony Stark, one of the protagonists of the story.
Yet in a world where he had a chance of encountering villains just by stepping out the door.
He had waited eighteen years without waiting for his golden finger.
He possessed neither Tony's intellect, nor Spider-Man's mutations, nor even the standard system of a transmigrator.
He could only comfort himself that at least transmigrating once meant living another life, which was no loss at all.
Besides, this transmigration wasn't into a dark, grim, and desperate world like Lord of the Mysteries, Daoist Gu, or Perfect World, so he should just take joy in secret.
Yet even though he was merely an ordinary person, he still utilized the advantage of his foresight to make some changes to the best of his ability.
In 2006, at the age of sixteen, Leon, having not waited for the arrival of the Time Variance Authority, chose to try changing the world.
He used his plot foresight to guide Tony, creating advantages as much as possible.
First, he guided Tony to develop a series of new civilian high-tech electronic products, such as smartphones and tablet computers, which weren't supposed to exist until after 2007.
Driven by these high-tech products, Stark Industries was now far more than just a military enterprise.
The scope of the company's business had expanded massively.
It was already the undisputed number one corporation in the world.
Beyond that, Leon also tried his best to guide Tony into developing the Arc Reactor.
Pity that Tony had never given any thought to research in this direction, brushing it off every time with the excuse that "such technology is impossible to achieve right now."
In reality, this fellow simply refused to put in the effort to study it.
After all, throughout the first half of Tony's life, which technological product hadn't he been able to create on a whim?
Even a cross-era product like the smartphone was developed after he heard Leon casually say, "How great would it be if a phone could turn into a screen and be tapped directly with your finger," before rolling his eyes and inventing it.
Since Tony was too lazy to study the Arc Reactor, Leon could do nothing about it, for after all, no one could persuade a stubborn mule to turn back.
Over the span of two years, the changes Leon brought about stopped right here.
He was like a diligent bee, searching everywhere for destinies he could alter.
He had also tried searching for Bucky's whereabouts to avenge Stark and his wife.
Or exposing Obadiah and sending him to prison...
Pity that in the end, none of these goals were achieved.
Obadiah hid himself extremely well, showing only the slightest flaws until a year ago when Leon caught them and informed Tony.
Yet Tony was too sentimental; even when doubts arose, he was still willing to trust his uncle.
After merely having an in-depth conversation with Obadiah, Tony easily felt that everything had been resolved.
Faced with this frustrating situation, Leon could only emphasize to Tony time and again that he must not let down his guard, and must not head alone into war zones similar to Afghanistan.
As for searching for Bucky, Leon had even less way of bringing it out into the open.
The forces of Hydra were intertwined and deeply rooted in this world.
As an ordinary person, rashly investigating would only expose himself and then lead to the exact same ending as Howard.
He couldn't even tell Tony.
On one hand, as the junior of the family, he lacked any real say, and Tony wouldn't necessarily believe what he said (Tony was roughly twenty years older than the protagonist).
On the other hand, even leaving aside the source of his information and simply guiding Tony to think, given Tony's arrogant temperament, he would one hundred percent use JARVIS to hack into various classified agencies the very first moment doubt arose.
By then, it would only result in Tony and him facing assassinations together once Hydra grew alarmed.
Chances were that the person sent to kill them would still be that old punk Bucky, ultimately letting this old Captain America war comrade achieve a legendary Stark quad-kill.
In Marvel, ordinary people were just this powerless, even if that ordinary person was a Stark.
His position in this world was much like Justin Hammer of Hammer Industries—he had money, but that was the extent of it, with at most a genius older brother added to the mix.
Fortunately, all of this changed on the day of his eighteenth birthday.
