Background

JARVIS was created by Tony Stark and named after Edwin Jarvis, the Stark family’s former butler 8. Before becoming sentient, he served as the household’s AI system, managing the mansion, Stark technology, and Tony’s armor systems.

He also acted as Leon’s caretaker during Leon’s childhood. When Tony neglected the young Leon, JARVIS told him stories and remained with him, creating a lasting bond between them 162.
