A new day had arrived.

After the rain came clear skies, sunlight spilling across the world as Leon headed for the battlefield.

This was his second time flying to Afghanistan, so he knew the route well.

He covered the distance in a few minutes, overtaking more than a dozen Boeing planes.

Leon hovered in the air, looking down at the azure world beneath the clouds.

His eyes moved from time to time, locking onto targets with greater precision than radar.

It was already nighttime in Afghanistan, and most Ten Rings bases had begun tightening security in preparation for rest.

But there were always some deranged terrorists who took advantage of the deepening night to harass ordinary civilians.

Leon targeted those people first.

"You'll be first!"

He spotted two armed terrorists violently kicking at a civilian's door.

He tilted his body and instantly plunged downward.

Shrouded by the Biological Force Field, Leon descended soundlessly like the Grim Reaper.

As he landed, he released the force field. The ground beneath his feet cracked outward like a spiderweb, accompanied by a dull impact.

The sound startled the two terrorists who had just kicked the door open.

They turned back with their guns raised. Seeing Leon's bizarre outfit, they immediately cursed and strode toward him.

"Dari? Are you Iranians or Tajikistanis?" Leon asked in Dari.

Over the past few days, he had learned most of Earth's official languages and could understand the Dari obscenities pouring from their mouths.

Yet the two men showed no reaction and even tried to press their gun barrels against his forehead.

Leon shook his head. "Looks like you don't want to talk."

"Then goodbye!" He shot out both hands, seized their necks like a phantom, lifted them over his head, and gently twisted.

Two crisp cracks sounded, and the terrorists' heads drooped as they stopped breathing.

Leon casually tossed the corpses aside. Just as he was about to leave, he thought of something and turned back to look at the family huddled together in terrified silence inside the house.

This was a typical Pashtun family.

The elderly father had a face covered in beard, deeply sunken eyes, waxy yellow skin, and cracked lips.

The mother and two daughters wore long dresses. Their brown and orange garments were a style of Pashtun clothing.

They all looked at Leon fearfully, their bodies trembling. Unable to speak, they could only desperately hide the girls' heads against their chests.

"You don't need to worry about the consequences of these two dying here."

Leon spoke in Pashto, Afghanistan's official language. "It's late. Go back to sleep. When you wake up tomorrow morning, every terrorist organization nearby will be gone."

With that, Leon turned and floated into the air. A sweep of his gaze locked onto his next target.

"E-excuse me!" Just as he was about to leave, a childish voice suddenly called out from inside the house.

Leon turned around. It was the youngest girl in the family.

She was seven or eight years old. Her terrified mother had covered her mouth, but she struggled free of her mother's hand and timidly asked.

"A-are you Superman?"

Leon wore the uniform he had made himself, complete with a red cape. He appeared at critical moments and could fly, so he really did look like Superman.

Still, Leon was briefly stunned.

He had not expected Hollywood's cultural influence to be so powerful that even a suffering family far away in Afghanistan knew about Superman.

...But thinking about it, before the Americans had come here a few years ago, this place must have had a rich entertainment culture too.

"I'm not, but it's fine if you want to call me that."

Leon first smiled and answered the little girl's question, then reassured the two parents. "It's all right. I'll be leaving soon, and those Ten Rings guys will be too."

"So you came to help us?" the little girl suddenly asked again. Having received an answer, she grew bolder. "Like how you knock those bad guys flying on TV?"

Leon fell silent for a moment before nodding. "That's right. I came to drive away the bad guys. They won't bully you anymore."

"That's great! Superman, you're amazing!" The little girl cheered, breaking free from her mother's hand and running toward Leon, wanting to hug his leg.

Leon could not help laughing. He descended to the ground, crouched down, and held the little sprout in place. "What's your name?"

"Shafiqa. My name is Shafiqa Mazari!"

"All right, Shafiqa, listen to me. Go back to your room now, lie down in bed, and have a wonderful dream. Then when you wake up tomorrow morning, all the bad guys will be gone. Okay?"

But the little girl did not agree. She looked at Leon with her big eyes. "Are you leaving, Superman?"

"Shafiqa," Leon said without answering her question. He tapped her forehead with his index finger. "Next time, don't talk to strangers so easily. And listen to your mother!"

With that, Leon rose to his feet, stepped back, and flew into the clouds with a tearing roar.

The little girl's entire family ran into the courtyard and stared at the pitch-black night sky, too stunned to speak.

"Allah bless us, that really was Superman!" The old father made a gesture of prayer.

That night, the family suddenly found themselves looking forward to tomorrow.

Leon swiftly cleared out every terrorist in Afghanistan currently harassing civilians.

Every time, he merely appeared, threw a punch, and left.

The entire process ended within a second.

In total, it took less than ten minutes.

After clearing out the foot soldiers, Leon began dealing with the terrorist organization bases.

Under normal strategic doctrine, he should have attacked the smaller bases first, gradually worn down the terrorist forces, and finally driven them out of the country.

But Leon definitely would not do that.

His first stop was the Ten Rings' largest base.

He flew among the clouds, his cape snapping loudly in the high-altitude winds.

At a glance, there were more than seventy people patrolling the base below.

Under Leon's X-Ray Vision, the more than four thousand combatants still sleeping inside the base were equally visible.

Besides that, he spotted Jericho missiles in one of the camp's tents.

They were high-yield weapons Tony had developed not long ago. A single barrage could flatten a small mountain.

"Why are there Jericho missiles here? Tony, Tony, you really did aid evil." Although Tony was deeply remorseful now, Leon could not help muttering.

He even took out his phone.

"JARVIS," Leon called out, "record everything I see in a moment and send it to Tony after the battle ends."

"Especially any Stark weapons we encounter during this. Record every detail for him."

Today, Leon was going to make Tony so guilty that he would be unable to sleep all night.

"Certainly, Master Leon. The recording equipment has been activated for you," JARVIS's voice came from the phone.

Leon silently nodded and descended. "The battle begins!"

This time, he made no attempt to hide himself. Like a meteor, he crashed into the Ten Rings camp, moving so fast that his friction with the air produced blazing flames.

Boom! The deafening impact echoed throughout the camp.

The next instant, alarms blared. Shouts of enemy attack rose one after another as the terrorists rapidly assembled.

Leon stood right in the middle of the camp. Whenever someone appeared, he dealt with them using Heat Vision.

Very quickly, the terrorists discovered that before the fight had even begun, half their side was already dead.

Some had just been jolted awake in the middle of the night, only to suffer this terrible news. They were already screaming about a monster and beginning to flee.

But the remaining men quickly gunned them down in concentrated fire.

Yet the survivors were no better off.

They did not even dare show their faces. Hiding behind tents, they pulled out grenades, grenade launchers, rocket launchers, vehicle-mounted missiles, and Jericho missiles, intending to unleash a concentrated barrage that would leave not even ashes of the invading monster.
