Energy poured into the God Tree like countless rivers flowing into the sea.
The God Tree soon reached its limit. Cracks split its trunk.
"Too much energy. The God Tree can't withstand it!"
Kaguya explained quietly, "Normally, it takes thousands of years for the God Tree to bear fruit."
"Thousands of years? That's easy enough."
Leon raised an eyebrow. He reduced the flow of energy and applied Time Acceleration to the God Tree instead.
A few breaths later.
The God Tree's trunk swayed.
The petals at its crown opened.
A glowing fruit emerged.
Leon flew to the treetop and plucked the fruit. The God Tree withered at once.
After examining it for a while, Leon ate the fruit bite by bite.
The others flew up after him.
Kaguya Otsutsuki was awestruck by what he had done.
Naruto stared eagerly. "It's already grown a fruit? Leon, what does it taste like?"
"The taste..." Leon considered it.
Once the God Tree Fruit entered his stomach, it became pure chakra energy.
It began trying to optimize his genes and alter his life-form.
It even tried to turn him into a humanoid Ten-Tails.
He would become immortal, able to control Natural Energy at will and awaken Kekkei Mōra.
But the energy was far too weak.
His cells absorbed every last bit without so much as a ripple.
Still, the process let Leon understand the true nature of the God Tree Fruit.
"It tastes all right. Want one?" Leon turned to Naruto.
Naruto scratched his head. "I do, but... the God Tree's already withered, and the Ten-Tails is gone too, right?"
"That's no problem."
Leon closed his hand, manipulating matter and energy into a unique structure in his palm.
A few breaths later, Leon had conjured two sparkling God Tree Fruits out of thin air.
