Inside the Pokémon Space, the female Poliwhirl's eyes lit up at the clear blue water, the green trees with branches swaying along the shore, and the cloudless sky. She could not help crying out.
She could hardly take her eyes off Wawa.

He had thought disaster was upon them. He had never imagined they would truly be given a way out!
I judged him by my own petty standards. How could the Trainer of a brave Pokémon behave like those evil humans?
"From now on, this lake is the Poliwag family's territory. Wawa will be in charge. You can visit other places too, but you mustn't fight anyone. If there's a problem, go to Bold and discuss it."
Mu Yun patted Bold beside him.
The Poliwag family answered to Wawa, Wawa answered to Bold, and Bold answered to him. It really did feel a little like a king granting lands to his vassals.
Unlike nobles with their own schemes, itching to seize the throne, though, Pokémon were far more straightforward.
Once they had Mu Yun's assurance, they all looked at him gratefully. If changes in affection came with notifications, he would probably have heard a whole string of them.
Hearing Mu Yun's words, the old Poliwhirl's eyes darted about, and he promptly called out.
"Yopo!"

The old Poliwhirl was no fool. The place was beautiful, and they would not lack food, but whether the clan could flourish would ultimately depend on this human.
Building a good relationship with him was important.
