Black Zetsu looked toward the Uchiha District.
Ren already possessed the Rinnegan.
And his was not like Nagato's, sustained by eyes that had come from someone else.
That power belonged to Uchiha Ren himself.
That was precisely why Black Zetsu could not act rashly.
Ren's physical strength, speed, Mangekyō Sharingan techniques, Yin–Yang Release, and Rinnegan—any one of them was enough to drive an ordinary Kage-level ninja to despair.
Now he could even suppress Nagato himself, the Six Paths of Pain, and Obito's Kamui.
Taking back the Rinnegan by force was nearly impossible.
But Black Zetsu had another idea.
The Infinite Tsukuyomi.
If the light of the blood moon could shine across the Shinobi World, no one, however powerful, could escape its dream.
Uchiha Ren possessed the Rinnegan and was terrifyingly strong.
But the stronger someone was, the more valuable it would be to draw him into the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
If Ren fell under the genjutsu, the Uchiha Family's defenses would collapse without a fight.
Then the Rinnegan, the Tailed Beasts, and all the power the Uchiha Clan had amassed would fall back under Black Zetsu's control.
The chance of that plan succeeding, however, was far too low.
So low that even Black Zetsu had to admit Ren was no ordinary ninja.
The ocular power of his Rinnegan was too great, and his will was far stronger than most.
Controlling him with genjutsu would be no easy task.
And the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan still needed Madara Uchiha.
Madara needed to complete his resurrection, serve as the crucial piece, and keep drawing everyone's attention.
Black Zetsu stared at the ashes Madara had left behind and spoke in a low voice.
"Madara Uchiha, you can't disappear yet."
"At least until the Infinite Tsukuyomi is complete, you're still useful."
