"Of course."
Chen Kong took out a bell and gave it a gentle shake. A dark shape lunged out and hovered beside him.
Chen Kong was about to shake the bell again to spur on his Ghost Familiar when Huang Yunfan raised a hand. "No need to test it. Junior Brother Deng is right. The Wasteland Beast's corpse should be beneath the cliff. My Yin Pet is already growing restless."
Jia Yu's expression changed. He was about to speak, but Huang Yunfan glanced at him, and he closed his mouth again.
Huang Yunfan smiled at Deng Qing. "The Image Recording Needle provides proof, and everyone saw it. Brother Deng Qing's leading share of the credit is assured."
Then his tone shifted. "But I'll say what I said before: when there's credit to be had, we share it.
"If we report nothing more than finding a trace, how much credit will any of us get?
"But if we put in the effort to bring the Wasteland Beast's remains up from the foot of the cliff and take them back, I guarantee every one of us will earn a handsome reward. What do you say?"
Cheers erupted all around.
"Well said, Young Master!"
"We've come this far. Of course we should bring it back!"
Even those who had hesitated moments before perked up at the prospect of a share of the credit.
Deng Qing sneered inwardly. Huang Yunfan was determined to claim the credit for directing the operation.
In truth, with the clue found and enough hands present, all that remained was to explore below the cliff and haul the remains up together.
Even without Huang Yunfan, they could have discussed how to do it.
But Huang Yunfan had spoken first. Whatever they did next would now count as following his direction.
