At those words, the God Kings grew even more anxious.
"Everyone, stop. There's no need to waste your divine power," Wan Ji said again.
"No! Listen to me, all of you. Strike it together one more time! The tower must be at its weakest right now. We still have a chance!" God King Zhouye's voice rang out.
The other God Kings immediately thought he had a point.
"Let's combine our attacks one more time," several God Kings called out.
After being roasted for so long, even parts of the Star Tower's surface had melted. Surely it would be easier to destroy if they attacked now.
But the God Kings were wrong. Terribly wrong.
The next instant, God Kings on all sides launched their attacks at two different points. The Star Tower suddenly blazed with golden light. It absorbed both attacks completely, then the golden glow across its surface dispersed that overwhelming force throughout the tower.
That devastating strike became like the final tempering blow a master craftsman delivered at the crucial moment of forging a Supreme Treasure. The entire tower shuddered. Every impurity within it was expelled and annihilated. The molten "metal" on its surface rearranged itself along the mysterious Golden Runes it contained, forming intricate patterns across the tower.
The patterns resembled strange beasts, symbols, or perhaps some other extraordinary life-forms...
No record in the history of the Origin Continent described such patterns. At the very least, none of the God Kings present had ever seen them.
Each pattern was so intricate and profound that it seemed to contain the ultimate truths of heaven and earth. The God Kings could not understand them at a glance, yet sensed they were far beyond their reach.
I never imagined a tower could be forged this way... Wan Ji thought.
