Wolverine, Logan, was the first to stand. His Adamantium claws snapped out with a clang.

"I can't wait to tear apart a few alien bastards!"

"Calm down, Logan."

Cyclops pressed a hand against his shoulder, but sharp light gleamed in his eyes as well.

Tony Stark smiled and snapped his fingers. The holographic projection in the center of the conference room instantly switched to a three-dimensional map of New York City.

"Since everyone's so confident, let's talk about the specifics of our welcoming ceremony."

He pointed at Stark Tower on the map.

"According to Thor's intelligence, Loki's portal will open here. So this will be our main battlefield."

"Cage, Eddie, Zola, T'Challa... Logan, Colossus."

Tony's gaze swept across the dozen or so heroes in turn.

"You're responsible for dealing with those big guys called Leviathans. Try to keep the damage within five blocks."

"Scott." He looked toward Cyclops.

"You're in charge of the ground forces and air support. Don't let a single Chitauri soldier bother the civilians."

"Doctor Spectrum, Hawkeye, you're responsible for long-range sniping. Prioritize eliminating the enemy's command units."

"As for us..."

Tony's gaze finally settled on Adam, Banner, and Thor.

"We'll go meet Loki and his five generals."

"Wait!"

Spider-Man hurriedly raised his hand. "What about me, Mr. Stark?"

Tony glanced at him and grinned. "You're responsible for swinging around above the battlefield and taking a few cool pictures, so tomorrow's headlines will look a little better."

Everyone burst into laughter, and the tense atmosphere completely dissipated under Tony's teasing.

They were the Avengers, Earth's strongest guardians.

They possessed enough power to stand against gods, along with experience saving the world several times over.

Their team was stronger than ever, and their convictions were unshakable.

Loki and Thanos's mere vanguard truly wasn't worth panicking over.
