After breakfast, Arnold Nielsen went to the Hunchback Hansen Inn, which was run by a hunchback named Hansen.
After taking William away last time, Reed Parker had settled the Pyromaniac at this inn.
Now that unidentified people in Trier were targeting the Iron and Blood Cross Order, Arnold had to be more careful.
He disguised himself, went to William's room, and knocked on the door using their agreed signal.
The door opened, and Arnold heard a woman's voice from the bedroom. "Who is it?"
William winked at him, then said, "A friend, darling. Go back to sleep."
Then William whispered, "If she hadn't been keeping me entertained these past few days, I doubt I could have stayed here for even an hour."
Arnold nodded. The gentleman before him was hardly the discreet sort. If he could spend several days alone in an inn, Arnold would have found that strange.
He cautioned, "Someone has been targeting our Iron and Blood Cross Order lately. You'd better look into your lady friends' backgrounds before deciding whether to bring them back to the inn."
"I will."
William walked farther into the room. "Would you like tea or coffee?"
"If you want tea, I only have ordinary black tea."
"As for coffee..."
Arnold interrupted him. "I'll just say a few words, then leave."
"Mr. Jerry asked me to tell you that if you've fully digested the Pyromaniac potion, you must report to him."
"He'll give you the potion for the next Sequence, Conspirer."
"You've earned it."
"Also, we have a mission for you."
William poured himself a cup of coffee. "It's left over from last night. Still drinkable once it's warmed up. Are you sure you don't want a cup?"
