A burly man nearly two meters tall suddenly smashed the bottle in his hand onto the floor and thumped his chest hard. "I'll do it!"
"Forget it, Tami. You're just giving that girl free money." A short, reeking drunk beside him tugged at the big man.
Tami shoved his companion's hand away. "I refuse to believe some little girl can beat me. In the Dock District, no one has ever beaten me at arm wrestling."
He strode over and sat down in a chair completely unsuited to his build.
His companion shook his head. "But in the past two weeks, not a single man has managed to beat that girl."
"Pay first!"
The tall girl on the other side of the table held out her palm.
Tami snorted. "Are you worried I'll renege?"
The girl nodded honestly.
"Damn it, I can't believe some little brat is looking down on me!" Tami shouted. "How much?"
The girl smiled sweetly. "One soli."
The big man pulled a crumpled banknote from his pocket and slapped it onto the table. Then he gripped the girl's hand. "Be careful. If I hurt you, I'm not responsible."
The girl with the short, shoulder-length hair collected the money first, then smiled. "You too."
A bartender came over to serve as referee. After looking at the two of them, he shouted, "Begin!"
Tami immediately roared and poured all his strength into crushing the little girl in an instant!
But the girl's hand did not move at all. She even gritted her teeth, looking as though she was struggling against Tami with all her might.
Judging by her expression, however, she seemed to be acting more than anything else.
Tami's face flushed red. Partly, it was because he was exerting too much force; partly, it was because he felt
