"Put it on?"

Caven looked astonished. This was somewhat different from what he had imagined. The thing haunting Isabella was actually a wedding dress?

This was far too bizarre!

Still, the Seer had spent time in the ancient organization known as the Secret Order. He would not be frightened so easily.

He quickly regained his composure and said thoughtfully, "Events like this do not happen for no reason. I need you to think back, Miss Isabella."

"Before you sensed the presence of that thing, did you do anything unusual?"

"For example, did you go somewhere, or accidentally bring something home from somewhere?"

Isabella rubbed the outside of her cup, feeling the warmth of the boiling water seep into her hands, as if it could dispel the coldness and fear.

"I'm certain I didn't casually bring home anything that didn't belong to me. My upbringing would never allow me to do that."

"As for anything unusual... does playing hide-and-seek count?"

Caven paused slightly, then asked, "Where did you play hide-and-seek?"

"At a manor, one that had been abandoned for a long time. It wasn't far from the one we lived in."

Isabella gently bit her lip. It was obvious that she had to gather a great deal of courage before she could continue. "It was two nights before I first sensed something strange. That night, our manor held a banquet."

"Someone our age suggested that we go explore that manor. We had all been drinking and were a little excited, so..."

Caven nodded. "Could you tell me what you did in that manor?"

Isabella thought for a moment, then shook her head helplessly. "I can't remember. I only remember that after we found the manor, my friend suggested we play hide-and-seek there. But no matter what, I can't recall the details..."
