Saint Witte Church. (--) (--)

Like the other churches of the Evernight Goddess, it had a quiet, secluded grand prayer hall, with narrow high windows inlaid with fine blue and red patterns on either side. When sunlight shone through them into the church, it was dyed dark blue and crimson, giving the hall a tranquil, shadowy atmosphere.

On the wall behind the arched altar, more than a dozen fist-sized round holes pierced through to the outside, allowing sunlight to enter and condense into beams of pure, holy light.

Bishop Morgan of the church preached to the believers in a deep, gentle voice.

After the sermon and Mass had concluded, the bishop opened the door to the nearby confessional and had the believers line up to enter. At that moment, a young priest hurried over to him and said softly, "Mr. Trundun has returned."

Bishop Morgan nodded, had the priest take over the remaining work, and headed deeper into the church.

Enqi Town had always been peaceful. Of course, that peace was relative; it meant that no Beyonder incidents had occurred.

Therefore, although Saint Witte Church belonged to the Church of Evernight, no Nightwatchers had been stationed there. Even Bishop Morgan himself was an ordinary person.

However, after the recent evil god incident, the Church had stationed two Nightwatchers here to prevent any further accidents.

Last night, several frightened young men and women had come to the church. They spoke vaguely and looked utterly terrified. After they left, someone saw a mysterious, immense radiance appear in the outskirts. This drew the attention of the church and the two Nightwatchers.

They had gone to investigate the outskirts that very night, and only now had one of them, Trundun, returned to the church.

In a quiet, peaceful room, Bishop Morgan met this Nightwatcher.
