Sifa quickly came up with a plan.
He would assume the identity of the embassy's security chief, "Ryan," and send the guards away on the pretext of protecting the ambassador's privacy. That would give him a chance to be alone with Beckron, as well as a brief period without anyone disturbing him.
But before Sifa could transform into Ryan, he saw several guards come down from the second floor and quietly leave.
Sifa was stunned for a moment, then immediately realized that the ambassador probably didn't want to be disturbed.
But wasn't sending the guards away so directly a little too reckless? What if that girl was an Assassin? Was Beckron confident he could take her down?
With those doubts in mind, Sifa was even more unwilling to let his guard down. Taking advantage of the fact that nobody was paying attention, he went upstairs.
The second-floor corridor was completely empty. Just as Sifa was thinking about how to quickly find the ambassador's room, he heard Beckron's voice coming from a room ahead.
"Someone!"
"Help!"
Sifa heard the panic in Beckron's voice, along with something unusual.
Had he really encountered an Assassin?
That girl in the red dress?
Sifa didn't rush forward. There might currently be two Beyonders confronting each other in that room, and neither might be low Sequence. If he went up like this, he might not only fail to profit from the situation but also lose his life.
Be patient. Keep waiting!
Sifa remained at the stairwell, planning to go downstairs the moment anything seemed wrong.
After a while, coughing came from the room again.
The violent coughing told Sifa that it was Beckron's voice. The Intis ambassador seemed to have suddenly come down with severe pneumonia.
Immediately afterward.
A scream rang out from the room.
"No!"
