The captain clasped his hands behind his back and paced before them. "How about this, gentlemen? You can all move outside. You can sleep on the beach or on the reefs, while Miss Natalie sleeps alone in the shack. What do you think of my suggestion?"
Quincy pointed at the Wavebreaker. "We can sleep on the ship."
"Obviously not."
Ken Angus said with a broad smile, "Because of certain training exercises, I require you to remain on the island. So, tell me your choice."
Frank said nothing. He pulled his somewhat loose coat tighter around himself and ducked into the shack.
Sifa knew the captain had arranged this deliberately and would not change his mind. He gave up on his original plan and entered the shack after Frank.
There was no floor or bed inside the shack, only fine, soft sand beneath their feet. There were no windows, no separate washroom, and no bathroom. It was outrageously primitive.
Only after Natalie arrived did the captain enter as well. With his hands behind his back, he said, "You will be a team. I need you to develop coordination as quickly as possible. I don't have time to let you slowly get used to each other. Therefore, locking you in a cage—cough, a room—will help foster that coordination."
Ken stroked his stubbly chin. "Besides, you've already joined Black Sails. You ought to understand our enemies, the situation at sea, and the secret organizations you might encounter."
"I certainly don't want my subordinates to stumble into an enemy's nest one day out of ignorance."
As he spoke, the boatswain and several sailors entered, placing several suitcases on the ground.
Ken dug a finger into his ear. "There's all sorts of information in there,
