After arranging for Bearded Man and the other to remain in the warehouse, Childe called deeper into the warehouse. A tall, thin man emerged from there, dressed in a grayish-white long coat with pockets stuffed full of assorted items.
The man Childe called "Doctor" had an indifferent face, as if nothing could interest him. He walked toward Bearded Man and the other, then said in a voice as cool as his appearance, "Wounds."
Bearded Man hurriedly took off his coat, revealing the bloody-red marks left by the fire whip. Doctor glanced at them and placed a hand over the surface of the wounds. A faint, weak green glow emanated from his palm.
Bearded Man felt the scorching, stabbing pain turn cool and slightly itchy. After a while, when Doctor withdrew his hand, the skin there had returned to its original color. A layer of skin had peeled away, but it was no longer bleeding and had scabbed over. If left alone, it would recover within a few days.
While Doctor treated the other man with the same method, Childe walked to the depths of the warehouse. There were tables and chairs here, and a heavily bearded burly man sat cross-legged on the floor.
This burly man had Highlander blood. He wore only a brown leather jacket, with nothing underneath. His developed chest muscles and sharply defined abs were faintly visible beneath the jacket.
