"I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill you!"
In the room, Kulak clutched his broken finger and aimed a vicious kick at Sifa's groin. Clearly, the gentleman knew how to fight—and how to leave a strong man writhing in agony in an instant.
Unfortunately, his opponent was Sifa.
Even without using flames, Sifa, as a Hunter, would never let a kick strike such a vulnerable spot. He dodged it, grabbed Kulak by the collar, and hauled him forward. Then he pressed down on the back of the man's head and introduced his nose to the wall in the most intimate way possible.
Bang!
Kulak screamed again. His nose was crooked, and blood covered his face.
Sifa crouched beside him and asked with a smile, "Mr. Kulak, do you think you can remember this lesson?"
"I..." Kulak rattled off a well-practiced string of curses.
Still smiling, Sifa nodded and took another of Kulak's fingers. Looking intently into his eyes, he began bending the finger backward, little by little.
"Stop."
"Stop!"
Crack!
The finger now stood perpendicular to his palm. It was broken.
Sifa took hold of a third finger.
"I was wrong."
"I was wrong!"
Kulak shouted, "I won't do it again, sir. I'll never beat Maggie or her son again. I'll do everything I can to take good care of them. I swear this will never happen again!"
"Very good. It seems we've reached an understanding." Sifa released the finger and pulled some loose money from his pocket. There were four or five pounds, perhaps even more.
Sifa stuffed the banknotes into Kulak's pocket. "This should be enough to treat your injuries and compensate you for your losses while you recover. Mr. Kulak, I hope you won't forget the promise you made tonight."
He lightly patted Kulak's face,
