It was not until Richard spoke that Doctor suddenly realized there was another man in the warehouse.
The man was in his early forties, with handsome tousled blond hair and a beard. He wore a crisp-collared shirt, a black vest, and matching trousers. He was not dressed formally and wore no top hat, looking utterly at ease, as if he were taking a stroll through his own study.
Doctor immediately became nervous and agitated. "I said I would only meet you alone."
Richard turned around and gave Doctor a gentle smile. "Calm down, my friend. Have you forgotten? I'm your old friend. Since I'm here, what is there to make such a fuss about?"
"Now go rest somewhere else and let me speak with Mr. Rayleigh for a moment, all right?"
Doctor's eyes became unfocused and dazed. He nodded without objection. "Of course."
Sifa was secretly alarmed.
This should be hypnosis, right?
Is this the power of a spectator? They can use hypnosis to turn enemies into friends?
That's terrifying!
Richard turned around with a smile. "Why else would I say we're friends? You understand me so well, Duke."
"The terms are simple. I want half of that main ingredient. Of course, you can pay me in gold pounds instead. What do you say?"
"That's too much," Sifa replied immediately. "In truth, having an extra Doctor companion wouldn't help me much. And if I get injured, I have my own channels for treatment."
He thought of Miss Apothecary.
"So even if he sells me out the moment he gets off the ship, it won't affect me much. But a Sequence 5 main ingredient is worth at least four or five thousand pounds. Losing two thousand pounds for a future companion who isn't that important is far too uneconomical for me."
