When Sifa saw the Golden Dream, a small boat was lowered from the sailing ship opposite. A pirate rowed it swiftly over to the fishing boat.
"We should get going." Danitz hesitated before reaching for Sifa's suitcase.
But Sifa stopped him. "I'll take it."
Since he was about to board the ship, he ought to give the Fourth Sailor some face. Sifa had only been teasing him before; he had not meant to humiliate him.
Danitz's expression improved. He leaped into the small boat, whistled, and slapped palms with the pirate rowing it. "How've you been, brother?"
"Better than you."
It seemed the Golden Dream did not have much of a class hierarchy. Ordinary pirates could casually joke with higher-ups like Danitz. Sifa smiled and landed in the small boat as well.
Before long, he stepped onto the deck of the Golden Dream and saw numerous pirates. Some were drinking, some fishing, while others gathered in small groups, chatting and laughing.
Suddenly, all the pirates looked toward the captain's cabin. Someone emerged from there—it was Iceberg Admiral Edwina Edwards.
She looked much the same as when he had seen her in Danitz's dream. Her hairstyle and makeup had not changed much, but she was not wearing a dress. Instead, she wore trousers and leather boots, intellectual and beautiful without losing her dashing air.
Sifa set down his suitcase, touched the brim of his hat, and smiled politely. "Good afternoon, ma'am."
"Good afternoon, Mr. Rayleigh." Edwina returned his smile.
Then she said, "Welcome to the Golden Dream. You're very capable, but I haven't decided what position to assign you yet. For now, be Danitz's assistant and familiarize yourself with the environment."
Danitz's heart immediately began pounding. He did not believe that Hunter Rayleigh would be willing to serve as his assistant.
