Five minutes passed.
Sifa finished praying and let out a small breath, not feeling discouraged.
He had prayed to the Lord of Storms, asking him to send down divine punishment to deal with the three-in-one Ancient Bane, perhaps even taking out the Rose School demigod along with it.
From the outset, he had known the chances of success were slim.
After all, he was not a Blessed of the Lord of Storms, nor did he possess a holy relic capable of attracting the deity's attention. If a merely symbolic Storm Emblem were enough to establish contact with a true god, true gods would be far too cheap.
It had only been an experiment. Success would have been pure luck, like winning the lottery, and failure was no great loss. He had already formed a vague plan while hypnotizing the Ancient Bane anyway.
Before fleshing out that plan, Sifa felt he should first sort through what he knew.
Judging by the information Gabril had provided, the Ancient Bane must have arrived on the island shortly after he left Yedga.
The more he thought about it, the more eerie and frightening it seemed.
Damir Port was nowhere near here, yet that thing had crossed the sea, unwavering in its determination to find him. He simply could not understand what sort of obsession drove it.
Was it because I blew a hole in its chest last time?
Talk about holding a grudge. All I did was put a hole in it! Other people did plenty of similar things, so why single me out?
Sifa shook his head and continued his analysis.
Back in Damir Port, the Lord of Storms had sent down divine punishment. Although Sifa did not know how the creature had survived, it had suffered tremendous losses in that battle.
