On the street where silver, crimson, and darkness mingled, Ince Zangwill noticed flames of crimson tinged with yellow closing in on him, seemingly intent on surrounding him.
Just then, an illusory, indescribable figure rose from the ground, holding aloft the longsword covered in dark red rust that Kottman had knocked away.
Ince Zangwill took the illusory longsword and slashed at the encroaching flames. They immediately retreated, their light dimming as though subjected to some invisible suppression.
Continuing to use spirits to shield himself from the lightning, Ince Zangwill held the quill and wrote on his clerical robe as he moved.
"Jahn Kottman has spent years operating at sea, and his brutality has disgusted many Spirit World creatures there. Now, as he vents his anger without restraint at Damir Port, he has attracted the attention of an unknown entity in the Spirit World. It has discovered Kottman, and it is about to act!"
Inside a mirror, Klein, wearing a pitch-black crown, felt his spiritual intuition stir. He noticed the street abruptly darken, its gloom and chill becoming almost tangible. Neither the silver raining from the sky nor the crimson flames blazing everywhere could dispel that sensation.
Existing in spirit form, he keenly sensed an unknown creature traversing the Spirit World toward them. It had already drawn close to the area.
At the same time, the Storm bishop in midair abruptly turned around. The void had become transparent, and slick, grotesquely shaped tentacles covered in teeth pierced the boundary between illusion and reality, curling toward him.
Kottman grunted. No longer able to spare any attention for the two Demigods on the ground, he let his robes billow and whipped up a violent current of air that slammed into the tentacles, as though to blast them back into the Spirit World.
