Dividing the Desire Apostle's Bounty

Odys's spirituality suddenly sensed that the recently deceased "Desire Apostle" was the very Devil who had cursed Earl Brandon's vineyard!

Now that the "Desire Apostle" was dead, the curse had been completely lifted. Odys no longer needed to worry about the issue of the "curse transfer."

His efforts to restrain the "Desire Apostle" earlier had not only consumed a great deal of spirituality, but also quite a bit of physical strength.

Thus, when he heard Captain Ikanser's question, Odys remained slumped on the sofa. "It seems you haven't seen the letters I sent to Machinery Hivemind. Once you go back and read those two letters, you'll understand why I'm here."

Ikanser nodded and did not pursue the matter.

He jumped in through the window and said to everyone, "We will continue investigating based on the clues connected to that Desire Apostle. All his assets will be confiscated, and bonuses will be distributed to you as appropriate to reward your contributions tonight."

Isengard rose to his feet and exchanged a few polite words with Ikanser.

The outcome was satisfactory for everyone. The official Beyonders had finally eliminated a major hidden danger in Backlund, while Isengard, Klein, and the others were safe as well.

"Wait a moment." Just as Ikanser was about to leave, Odys suddenly called out to him. "Don't you think that Desire Apostle's actions tonight were very foolish?"

Ikanser paused, then walked back a few steps. "What did you notice?"

Odys sat up straight on the sofa. "If I were the Desire Apostle and wanted to take revenge on these Detectives, I would never send them all threatening letters at once."

He spread his hands. "The Serial Murder Case culprit had already been dead for a month, and the Desire Apostle had remained dormant for a month as well.
