Odys could feel that terrifying thing—whether it was a monster or something else—pressing tightly against his back. He could even almost feel its breath.
But he did not dare turn around to look. His spirituality told him that if he did, he would definitely die.

Those footsteps continued following behind him at an unhurried pace.
Odys did not know whether it was fear or tension, but he felt his whole body trembling.
But he could not stop. He had to keep moving forward!
The last shred of reason in his mind told him that the thing behind them had not come out to kill them. Otherwise, once it appeared within a certain distance, everyone in the group would immediately collapse and turn into monsters.
The fact was, it seemed to be merely tailing the group. Only those who turned their heads slightly had been killed.
Odys had the illusion that they were a group of powerless ants, while the other party was an elephant.
When an elephant came out for a walk, it naturally would not pay any attention to a group of ants beneath its feet.
But the "ants" had to hurry out of its way. They could not block the elephant's path and risk being trampled to death.
The only solution now was to keep moving forward as quickly as possible. Odys forced his trembling legs to take one step after another. Some of the ordinary people could no longer stand, but they knew how dangerous it was behind them. Under Odys's urging, they simply dropped to their knees and crawled forward. Surprisingly, they moved faster than they had when walking.
The group moved forward in trepidation. They had no idea how much time had passed, and it felt as though time had stretched endlessly.
