Odys had long since mastered the Teleportation Array. He drew quickly, and in just over ten minutes, the main array was nearly complete.
After placing the Traveler characteristic he had prepared in the correct position, Odys left Rupert to watch over it. He went to the manor Bazel had just bought, entered its warehouse, and completed the Teleportation Array's secondary array.
Once he infused the array with spirituality, an illusory door immediately appeared at its center.
That proved the main and secondary arrays were connected. In effect, he had activated the Traveler characteristic on distant Krus Island from Bayam, forming a fixed passage through the Spirit World.
For now, though, the passage was narrow. Like the Travel ability, it could carry at most three people at a time.
Odys stepped through the illusory door. He immediately noticed one difference from Travel: crossing the Spirit World this way consumed no spirituality.
The route was fixed, however, and could not be changed.
Moments later, Odys left the Spirit World and appeared in the warehouse on Krus Island, right in front of a startled Rupert.
"Did it work?" Rupert asked eagerly.
"The passage is open, at least," Odys said. "There's one last step. I need to pray to a certain existence for power. Give me a moment alone."
Rupert nodded at once. "Of course!"
Outside the warehouse, Rupert could hardly contain his excitement. This was the legendary Teleportation Array! The Sword of Dawn had actually built one!
Inside, Odys was much calmer. He knew the final step—widening the passage—was the most important.
