One glance was enough to tell him the figure was a Sequence 5 Beyonder, probably posted outside as a lookout.
By the customs of Beyonder organizations, important figures naturally did not keep watch themselves. Every operation required a group of subordinates.
To watch someone as important as Queen Mystic, they would need at least one Sequence 5 Beyonder.
Odys hesitated for less than a second before slipping away through the shadows not far from the lookout.
The Moses Ascetic Order had sent not only a Demi-God today, but an Angel as well. Escaping was what mattered now.
Just then, a force that struck straight at the soul erupted from the direction of the villa. Odys, still in Shadow Transformation, could not help trembling. It felt as though the most terrifying thing imaginable was chasing him.
He took a deep breath and steadied himself before continuing his flight, trembling all the while.
At that moment, a cluster of Star Sand appeared in the hand of the Sequence 5 Beyonder hiding in the darkness. The Beyonder cast Flight Spell and fled just as quickly.
Coincidentally, they took the same route as Odys.
Or rather, Odys had chosen the best escape route through the surrounding area. That was why their paths overlapped.
Don't blame me for this, Odys thought.
He did not strike immediately. He fled a little farther, entered an alley, and waited until the trembling had eased. Then he suddenly closed in on the Astronomer. "Death!"
Though the fleeing Astronomer had felt as if a pair of eyes were watching him, Pale Death had put him under such immense mental pressure that he dismissed it as his imagination.
