Then again, perhaps it makes more sense to see this as a scheme involving the Angel of Imagination Adam, Mr. Fool, and the Lord of Mysteries.
These three mythical figures, all of whom had existed before the Cataclysm, had secretly come together—some seeking resurrection, others seeking to advance further.
Another question occurred to Alger: Adam obtained the Level 0 Sealed Artifact and opened the way to the divine throne. What did Mr. Fool and the Lord of Mysteries gain from this?
Almost unconsciously, Alger turned toward the head of the Bronze Long Table. He was careful not to look directly at the Fool.
The moment the Fool entered his field of vision, Alger sensed something different. Mr. Fool had always seemed lofty and profound, impossible to fathom, but that had been the extent of it.
