At the Tarot Club gathering, the discussion turned to how to create "Pure Darkness" for Sun Derrick's advancement ritual.
Hermit Odys had an idea. "Creating Pure Darkness isn't difficult, but the darkness in the Forsaken Land of the Gods is extremely dangerous.
"The danger mainly comes from two things. First, there's a chance you'll vanish into thin air. Second, strange monsters can emerge."
The other members nodded. Those dangers really were hard to deal with.
Only then did Star Leonard realize just how dangerous the Forsaken Land of the Gods was.
Odys explained in detail, "Vanishing into thin air should fall under the authority of the Sleepless Pathway, while the emergence of monsters falls under that of the Secrets Suppliant Pathway.
"The basic theory is probably that someone who vanishes suddenly enters a Hidden Space and becomes concealed.
"At that point, they can still be saved if they or someone nearby has the right scroll or charm. After a few minutes, though, it's hard to say."
He paused briefly, then continued, "As for those strange monsters, they actually come from shadows, not darkness.
"I once researched them. They're a peculiar kind of spirit world creature that can enter the real world through its shadows when certain conditions are met.
"The darkness in the Forsaken Land of the Gods meets those conditions, so they appear when darkness falls.
"A Beyonder at the Shadow Ascetic level can command these spiritual creatures to attack a target. Ordinarily, though, they don't attack people on their own. But the Secrets Suppliant Pathway holds authority over the Fallen as well as shadows.
"Those strange spiritual creatures quickly come under the influence of that authority and turn into monsters that attack people.
"Also, at such times, ordinary people can enter the Hidden Space, while people inside it
