Inside the house at 7 Pince Street in Backlund's North Borough.

Black-haired, green-eyed Leonard personally made tea for his two visitors and set it on the coffee table before them. Then he picked up the conversation from the doorway. Clearing his throat, he said:

"Miss Moretti, you want information about Detective Sherlock Moriarty?

"But I'm just an ordinary citizen. I don't take investigative commissions.

"You should find a professional private detective."

Melissa gave the man who had spent half a month helping around her home under one pretext after another a flat look. The message in her eyes was unmistakable: Liar!

Leonard caught it too. He coughed awkwardly and was about to say something else when Melissa lifted her chin slightly and said in an even tone, "Mr. Leonard Mitchell, I already know you're a Nighthawk... and Klein was one too!

"Now, can you tell me how Klein really died?"

Leonard's gaze sharpened. He turned abruptly toward Hazel, who was sitting beside them drinking tea, and demanded, "Did you tell Melissa about Beyonders? How could you? She was just an ordinary person. She shouldn't know any of this!"

Hazel did not answer at once. She calmly set down her teacup, looked around, and said with genuine admiration, "What an impressive dream ability. Without this arm, I never would have noticed it with my abilities as a Mystery Pryer alone."

Leonard frowned. "Answer my question, Miss Hazel."

Before Hazel could reply, Melissa cut in. "Mr. Mitchell, please don't interrogate my teacher like that... Besides, you should answer my question first."

Leonard looked at her in surprise, his expression growing more serious. He tilted his head and paused for a few seconds before his gaze settled on the badge pinned to Melissa's chest, a badge that inspired calm at a glance.
