Klein was no stranger to the Dream Labyrinth Tower. His relationship with Miss Sharron had advanced so quickly in no small part because they had supported each other while clearing its challenges.
He did not know much about Old Huang's arrangements on the first floor, but he had guessed they were an attempt at resurrection. That fit what the diary said.
Klein had expected the following entries, if they were consecutive, to describe how the Dream Labyrinth Tower was built. Instead, they took a different turn:
"August 1. I wasn't in my right mind before. After the wish I made with the Dragon Ball failed, I tossed them aside... It wasn't until I came back to my senses today that I realized how severe their aftereffects were...
"Unlike in the cartoon from my previous life, the Dragon Balls I made didn't turn to stone after a wish. They merged into the wisher's body and were born alongside the wisher's children...
"Yes, whether the wisher is male or female, whether they've done anything of that sort since making the wish or not, they'll become pregnant... With seven at once...
"And children born this way can only live to eighteen. They die upon reaching adulthood and turn into new Dragon Balls.
"What is this? Some evil-god mashup of Dragon Ball and the Calabash Brothers?
"Luckily, I made the wish using a mechanical duplicate. Even so, that duplicate became pregnant...
"How could something I made have such a terrifying side effect?
"Something this evil must be destroyed! Destroyed!"
