In the chief's room at the top of the Round Tower in the City of Silver.
Colin Iliad looked at Derrick Berg, who seemed undersized compared with everyone around him.
"Are you ready?"
Clad in full armor and carrying a door-sized greatsword slightly taller than himself, Derrick nodded firmly. "I'm ready."
The Tower had passed the equipment to him through Groselle the Giant. Supposedly, it had a second form, though that could only be used once.
In short, Derrick looked nothing like a Beyonder of the Sun domain. He looked more like a Berserker.
Colin Iliad, his hair graying and old scars marking his face, turned his gaze to Lovia.
"Are you ready?"
Lovia had silver-gray curls and pale gray eyes. She, too, wore dark armor, though its unusual design was nothing like the City of Silver's customary simplicity.
She gave an almost imperceptible nod. "No problems."
Colin, the Demon Hunter who had become a Silver Knight, then turned to former chief Chaplin and Groselle the Giant, asking each in turn if he was ready.
Once everyone had answered yes, Colin Iliad walked to a wall, took down the two straight swords hanging there, and strapped them to his back.
"Move out." The chief of the City of Silver gave the order without another word.
He would lead this exploration team back to the Afternoon Town camp to investigate the Giant King's Court further and find a route to the true sea.
But because of hints The Tower had given him in advance, Colin had not included any Mid-Sequence members. This time, the exploration team consisted entirely of Demigods.
Armor plates clinked as Lovia, Derrick, and the others silently followed the chief out of the room in single file and descended the stairs.
