At the sight, Abner instinctively activated his Spirit Vision. Behind the gas lamp, a figure suddenly emerged from the wall above the desk. It was made of dark, insubstantial mist and looked as though it wore a black cloak!
Who is that?! Abner had no time to think. He reached to activate his Ring of Light, intending to hit the figure with Holy Light first and ask questions later.
Just then, the figure made the air vibrate and spoke. "Abner, it's me, Jane. Don't attack."
"Jane?" Abner paused as his fingers rubbed the ring, but he didn't stop. Instead, he changed the Holy Light he had been about to release into a Purifying Aura around himself.
Thanks to his fine control, the golden halo that abruptly appeared formed a barrier of light only around his body. It did not affect his other uninvited guest.
